ODB is better than Jackson at a few things. One of them is he actually runs routes. Another is that he's not a complete *****.

Dude is gonna be a good fit for our offense.

I love Pryor. Im just telling you that our fans overreact to everything because they wanted to draft offense just for the sake of drafting offense. Hell they hated the Sheldon Richardson pick last year and now he is a stud

I like ODB as a player but not at 12 overall. Should have snagged Zack Martin. Could start at LG if Beatty was healthy and move over to T if need be.
I think the wr's in rounds 2/3 will be closer to the top wr's than the ot's in 2/3 will be to the best ot's of the 1st round.

As a Jet fan Beckham was on my list of top 3 BUT i agree his stock rose fast the past few weeks. surprised he was taken at 12 but i still think he will be a good fit for the Giants

I don't think Martin is capable of playing LT at all.

So it comes down to guard vs. outside WR.

Think they draft an OL in the 2nd round

Houston needs another Carr.

I'm happier with ODB than another Pugh in Martin. Why would we take a G at 12? Martin is a quintessential ZBS G. He fits our scheme, but he'd be a reach that high.

I wanted Lewan, but we got scooped by the Titans.

ODB was a good pick for you guys. Gives Eli another deep threat and return guy. I wanted ODB but thankfully this is a deep WR draft

Yeah, I can't remember the last time I was truly happy with a pick. I'm either OK with it or pissed. I think Prince was the last time I was happy.

I'd be shocked if he was. He's MONSTROUS value in the second. Probably the single best value pick left. XSF being the next biggest value.

The only thing I'd be concerned with is the fact that OBJ did pretty bad against legitimate competition in college.

Jets really love Jace Amaro, if he falls to us, I think he's the pick. If not, then a WR in a whole depth of them.

As a Browns fan, my reaction is officially:

Wait, what? I don't even...

So, to sum up, they've added the Bills' 1st and 4th next year, the most athletic corner in the draft and Johnny Football and... only given up one of their two 3rds and their 5th to do all that?

I wanted Bortles, and I don't like Manziel (primarily for his off the field BS), but DAMN is it hard to argue with Ray Farmer's first draft so far.

EDIT: and going in to day 2 they're 3rd on the clock with Lee, Latimer and Adams still on the board? Sweet.

giants are going for the fast paced, up tempo kind of offense so this pick makes sense. this is what mcadoo is trying to implement. sort of the same offense green bay ran when he was there. they are becoming a west coast offense. it brings a fresh new look to an offense that sorely needed it.

He was great against Georgia, TCU, and Mississippi. He was their only receiver who showed up to play in the Iowa game.

The Giants like their LSU receivers. Randle was an LSU guy too.

the one thing I didn't like about the Giants' pick is that Mara stated afterwards something to the effect of did you see the size of the Seahawks' receivers? Uh, I think the defense won those games and the offense was a beneficiary of constantly getting the ball, often in good field position and with momentum, or so it seems. Truth is, the Giants have a hole everywhere, but their best player is a quarterback who needs guys t throw it to. This guy seems like he can catch anything, anywhere, and Eli will throw everywhere so it could be an awesome fit for Eli, and he'll need it since they'll need to win 41-37 every time. Now what they need is to give him time to throw (and if they can find a running game, that will help, and perhaps some blocking!).

You do realize the giants defense finished top 5 last year, right?

The problem was the team couldn't score points and turned the ball over at a ridiculous rate

Seeing a lot of people say OBJ is a good route runner. Not gonna help much when Eli reads the defense and expects him to go one way, but OBJ sees another thing and goes the other way Or is that not going to happen with our new OC?

What's the WR depth look like now?

Cruz
Randle
OBJ
Manningham

?

I don't know. I don't know enough so I really can't say. Seems like Eli has enough weapons, but does he have enough time to get these guys the ball? OBJ's size is also a concern of mine.

Hope we pick up an OL and a LB today.

I would put Jernigan over Manningham right now.

I think the notion is that with this new offensive system, it will be more about short throws, getting the ball out quick. It will theoretically mask some offensive line deficiencies (though the line looks to be improved a bit). Beckham, Cruz, Randle, Jernigan, and Manningham are a great receiving corps fir this kind of offense.

I'm hoping for best available players today at TE, OL, DL, or LB.
