I think I just want someone to tell me it will be ok. I mean yeah it's just a hockey game and life goes on, but the stigma of losing continues and what do I say to someone who points and laughs and says you're a bunch of chokers. I'm not that type of person, I respect fans of all the teams, at least the good ones. I'm a fan of Hockey and the Sharks are my team but then you go on the internet and face the "music" of what has become the fans that take things personally and wil make fun of you just to stroke the ego more and more.

I miss the days of just talking hockey amongst friends. Maybe that never happened, but I did see it at least in the chats on Gamecenter Live. This loss sucks, and other than this thread and the Bay Area thread, and still talking about the playoffs, I'm staying outside the hockey forums here for a while. Not sure how long, but the dust needs to settle and cooler heads won't prevail for a long time, maybe even after the draft.

That's probably what happens. It's a painful loss, but life does go on. Hopefully this is the summer where the Sharks make a ton of news.

Too much alcohol and getting emotional is bad. Few days ago I was with the girl id kind of been seeing and I acted a fool. I told her a lot of my thoughts but I wasnt able to process what she said. A week later and I don't remember her responses and actions. I feel ashamed of myself for losing control like that.

She said now she only wants tp be friends. She said all her long term real havr started out as friends first. If I didnt make her so uncomfortable things may have been different.

There was a night when I lost control too and it was scary, considering the next day I had to do a family function. I promised myself I would never do that again (mainly because the hangover and losing control of your abilities wasn't worth it) and it's one of the reasons I don't drink that much. It's mainly an occasional glass of wine (And I might have a beer but most of the time it's just wine). Having a good time is nice, drinking and losing control isn't.

Hopefully you'll be able to reconcile and the friendship becomes something else again.

I dont mind losing control and being stupid or even blacking out but there's a time and place for that. I only drink if im in a good mood or for fun. The problem started that we were scheduled to have fun and drink and watch the stars game. She alluded to the fact were only friends, (later said she meant it as joke) this made me unhappy and I couldn't let ot go. As this festered all night I couldn't let it go amd eventually as I was wasted I started talking and couldnt shut up.

If I forgot how i was cussing at gears of war and thats all ha ha I was drunk. Hell last time I got drunk I forgot parts of the nighr and it was funny cause we were all drunk and stupid.

The hat and mint industries are far too powerful to let that happen.

I read before that someone won over $20K because he/she bet $60 on that horse to win the Derby... back in November.

A bit amused at the "little monsters" complaining about Lady Gaga changing TWO concert dates (Washington, Philadelphia) due to NBA playoffs in Washington.

It's official, my girlfriend and I will be moving to Mountain View at the end of June! I'll be looking for an art studio so if anyone knows of any in the area or within a short commute please pass the info along. Other than that any recommendations of restaurants, stores, movie theaters etc. would be appreciated. In fact maybe people could recommend their favorite places in the general area, would really help us out!

Congrats Kirby and consider this an early welcome!

First food place that pops into my mind that is somewhat near Mountain View is Su's Mongolian BBQ in Santa Clara right next to the University. Absolutely fantastic food but I hope you have an iron stomach

Depends what kind of food are you into? Also for living without paying something like 2400 in rent per month, stay away from Downtown, Los Altos Hills, Los Altos, Cupertino, etc and stick closer to the part of mountain view near 101, Ames and Rengstorff.

Thanks guys! DrFeelgood, that's perfect my gf absolutely loves Mongolian BBQ and will be going to Santa Clara for her teaching credential! We're lucky to be moving into my grandfather's old house and won't need to worry about finding a place. The house needs some work though so if anyone knows any good services for flooring, air conditioning, painting etc that would be great. As far as what food we're into maybe I should just make a list that people could fill in what they like in the extended area:

Mexican-
Japanese-
Korean-
Italian-
Pizza-
Chinese-
Thai-
Indian-
Greek-
Middle Eastern-
Vietnamese-
Spanish-
Steakhouse-
Other-

Best Mexican food in Mt. View is Fiesta Del Mar IMO.

Really like Amici's pizza as well.
