Lemieux-Gretzky-Richard
Dionne-Beliveau-Bossy
Bobby Hull-Howe-Esposito
Jagr-Mikita-Lafleur

Reserves : Morenz-"Boum Boum" Geoffrion-Messier

Orr-Savard
Robinson-Potvin
Bourque-Coffey
Harvey

This defensive line-up scares the living ***** out of me !!!!!! You can also add Lidstrom...

Roy (3-time Conn Smyth means a lot !!!)
Sawchuck
Plante/Tretiak

Toe Blake
Scotty Bowman

Let me just say that I honestly think that a great number of Russian players that never played in the NHL could easily make it on the list....but since I've never seen them play, either on tv or in a live game, I cannot assess how good they are......

didnt expect to see Hunts on any lists.......this should be named....the greatest team you dont want to line up against. The 3rd and 4th lines are just not the guys you want to meet in the corners

This line up, put into a time machine, beats all of the old school lineups. Better conditioning, better skills. Although I would give space for Brett Hull and Mario: they were/are just sick and translated their skills well into the contemporary age despite the trap.

Yes, what Orr did is ten thousand times more important than Pronger. The point is that these guys today could beat any ghosts of yesteryear. I look at old film of Esposito and laugh at the shoddiness of his game. He had immense perserverance, but I think Andreychuk could have gone in a time machine and scored more goals than him. I'm trying to appreciate the talent around today and not fall into the "the old days were the best days" fallacy.

Although I do think that Mike Bossy would be tremendous in today's game, and I like that Shore got a nod.
Don't use a old film of Esposito to disparage the players of the 60's & 70's. espo was one of the most over rated players ever but he did have the fortune of playing with both Bobby Hull & Orr. Have you ever seen a highlight film of Orr Or bobby Hull. Nothing compares today except for Mario.

To win an actual game, and not a skills competition, only players I saw:

Lemieux - Gretzky - Makarov
Krutov - Forsberg - Jagr
Yzerman - Clarke - Kurri
Messier - Trottier - Bossy

Fetisov - Potvin
Bourque - Chelios
Coffey - Stevens

Hasek
Parent

Well, YEAH! And thatīs only my 2nd line . Of course Lemieux should be on the top line but I wanted to do it properly (I.E. LW - C - RW).

But didnīt you think that Kharlamov is way overrated?

If Mike Bossy and Wayne Gretzky played on the same line in the 80s Bossy could've scored 120 goals.

Really?

Bossy played with Trottier, and scored 69 goals in one season.

I know Gretzky is good, but do you think he would added 51 more goals to Bossy's totals?

Better yet, do you think Bossy under Gretzky would have been nearly 50 goals better than Kurri was under Gretzky?
