St. Louis Signs Massive Contract with Bolts

6 Years, 5.2 million a season. Looks like Sather won't be trying to get him anymore.

WHo knows. Think Hossa. He was signed for a huge contract then traded, why not St. Louis

Hossa is 26 with a 5 year deal and St.Louis is 30 with a 6 yeardeal, I dont think anyone is going to want a 30 year old with a 6 years 5.2 mill contract especially one who just had one superb season and one good season his whole careere and really didnt just step it up until a couple seasons ago , as opposed to Hossa's 45 goal season and three straight 30 plus gaol seasons and only being 26 so " COOL DUDE" there is a big difference andi wouldnt compare Hossa to St.Loius deal wise, or even value wise. Hossa IMO being worth quit a bit more.

Anyway, is it me or is this deal insane from TB's part I mean 6 years deal for an undersized player who had one great season and one good season and is alreday 30 years old, players in the league are getting bigger not smaller. this deal is a bit silly maybe 3 or 4 years fine but 6, bad dealI MO.

You're clueless. I was saying that just because St. Louis is signed it doesn't mean he won't be traded.

well, it may be a lengthy contract, but it's not for crazy money. i mean it's not 7.2 or 6.2 per year. 5.2 per doesn't seem that unreasonable.

and do we have to hear that bit about Sather every time a guy is signed? there will be free agents available. and we don't need any big money guys now, and probably won't next year either.

$5.2 million...

is not outrageous based on his last two years with the Lightning. It is outrageous if his career pre-28 years are considered when measuring his salary, and if at 34, 35 or 36 he's not producing as he was at 30. Or if at 34, when I believe Lecavalier's contract is up and perhaps he's moved on and St. Louis cannot put up the same numbers as a 34+ year old without Vinnie and with a $5.2 million contract. It was a gamble they had to take, though, and a ballsy one at that.

Im clueless, Im juststating my opinion , is that OK with LORD??? you said because Hossa was signed and traded means St.Louis can be also, and MY POINT was no St.Louis wont be traded, its NOT SIMILAR AT ALL. Hossa is a 26 year 3 time 3o plus goal scorer and a one time 45 goal scorer as for St.Louis he is an undersized player who just broke into the NHL big time at about 28 or 29 had one 90+point season and one good 70 some odd point season, so no a deal cant be made for St.louis no one IMO will take an undersize 30 year old with one good seasoin and one great season for 6 years at 5.2 MIll, I think you are cluelsss to my point to be exact.

I don't think that me thinking it it possible for St. Louis to be traded makes me clueless.

Enough. If I have to start closing threads because of petty bickering about machuirty of cluelessness, warning will be handed out. And I don't want to have to do that. Everyone make your point without the nastiness. Respect each other's opinions. Even if you disagree with that opinion.

Seriously guys, stop starting petty arguments and filling up precious internet space.

Also, NYC Aim, please spend a little more time focusing on basic grammar in your posts. You have interesting things to say at times, but I can't help but groan everytime I scan your post. Less quantity, more quality. Please.

Richards

How in the world do they keep Richards now??? The cap goes down after this year right? I mean there is just simply NO WAY Richards takes a paycut after what St.Louis and Lecavlier got!

Lets get Richards, he's my favorite out of those big three on Tampa anyway.

To get him will be a task, TB will not give up on him some how find a way to re-sign him or keep him if not it will be an overpayemnt IMO, but I would give up a bit not much but I would be willing to sacrifice something to get him. He is a 80 point player and does have a Connsmyte in only his 2nd post season, which is pretty damn impressive.

IMO

Richards> Lecavalier> St.Louis

My three favorite fowards in the league are Richards, Heatley, Havlat and Spezza, 3 of them now with Ottawa So Richards would be more than welcome to NY. Great kid to have.

Why is Sather an idiot? Because did you really think that those teams would leave their stars unsigned for Glen to cherry pick. Just because you thought that would happen and it didn't, doesn't make Glen a bad GM. Just makes you look foolish for believing all that bull****.

St. Louis for six years is strange. He's 30 years old, under-sized, and as stated above only had 2 good seasons. A 3-4 year deal should have been enough. Give his agent credit. Dosn't mean he can't be traded.

Sather can be classified as a bad GM or idiot on his poor coaching choices alone
