I like Tootoo as a player and how he handles himself off the ice. He sealed his fate this year when he got called back up and was invisible. He wasn't running around crashing everything that moved. It was almost as though he was trying to impress with his defensive coverage he forgot to forecheck.

Anyways everybody including himself I'm sure knew this was coming. Wish him best of luck in the future.

I will always have a soft spot for what happened to his brother.

FWIW, Ken Holland actually said there were some teams showing interest in him prior to the deadline (I'm betting those teams wanted Holland to eat half Tootoo's salary), so if he's bought out, he might still get some phone calls.

Tootoo might be a good role player for the Leafs at 1 mill a year!

I could see the Bruins giving Tootoo a shot by replacing Thornton with him this offseason.

Winnipeg was interested, but had cap issues. Both internal and nhl salary.

I could defiantly see a team like Toronto being interested. 4th line guys are suppose be hard working crash bang and fight "energy boosting players" say so long to Mclaren or Orr, maybe both if bring in this guy. Would be a solid signing and would probably fast become a fan favorite in Toronto.

If Tootoo handles himself off the ice like he does in the video I don't see any reason for anyone to rag on him. He has battled the loss of his brother, rehab and still seems like a solid dude. He will fight anyone and has huge balls.

Props to Tootoo...hope he makes it back to the show.

I'd gladly give him a shot in Edmonton on the 4th line with Hendricks and Gazdic. Worst case is he's the extra forward.

Hockey and his role can be debated.
But he does handle himself exactly as shown in the video, especially with kids.

He signed a game stick for my boy as well during his time with the Preds.

I always thought his game changed the minute he turned around and knocked Robidas out cold.

After that, it was like the refs were looking for reasons to send him to the box. He never seemed as effective after that - the old flying around and hitting anything that moved was replaced by a guy playing a more tentative game. IMHO.

Classy guy off the ice though.

I wonder if the Wings will continue to be as allergic to toughness this summer as they were in the past?

I like the Tootoo train, he knows how to hit and is very aggressive. Could see him in the Pacific division maybe with a team like ANA, CGY.

He could have sparked some life in to the Leafs down the stretch, but I think I'd rather give a spot to one of our kids.

That being said, always loved watching Tootoo do what he did best.

Surely a team will give him a chance with a limited role, but I doubt he's on Toronto's wish list. But I have been wrong before.

Pretty much a given. I still think Tootoo could play in the NHL, but he'll likely have to take a minimum deal to do it. For some reason, I could see him being on St. Louis' 4th line.
What was holland thinking when he signed that deal in the first place?

If only Tootoo could pk, ultimately his lack of detail in his own zone and his inability to contribute on special teams is going to shorten his career.

With that said the guy currently cannot get time with the AHL Griffins. He is being deservedly benched and his play was terrible at the AHL level. Now does one team decide to buy the idea of the old Jordin Tootoo? Maybe, but the room of scouts is at least going to bring up he was flat out awful this year. He didn't play like a guy should knowing he might need to make positive impressions around the league. Somebody might call him in, if I am going to be a bottom feeder and need to sell tickets and have a nice guy for community events maybe you go after him.

But nothing Jordin Tootoo has done over the last two years deserves teams to be lining up to offer him anything but a try-out. I wish it had worked out better, unfortunately he wasn't a fit in Detroit and there are currently 25+ forwards that are better than him. Sure you can tag it as a role is needed, but think about that statement for a second, why would your team outside of maybe ticket sales consider this guy for a job?

I remember his first game with Detroit, he ran over Phillip Larsen and the entire building came unglued. Really wish it worked out between him and Detroit, but he'll find work somewhere.

Ish. I'd rather we give a look at Bulmer before we even consider signing Tootoo.

Would kill to have this guy playing on the Bruins fourth line, taking over Thornton's role. Perfect fit if we can get him at 900K or at 1mill.
