Never. He's too busy with his junior team and does'nt have NHL-shape anymore.

Nope........Roy doesn't need to comeback. He has achieved everything possible and has more money than his grandkids' grand kids could spend. I think when he hung them up it was for good.

I assume this carried an E1 rating?

For those of you unfamiliar with the rating system...

E1 = Some drunk guy at a bar
E2 = Two drunk guys at a bar
E3 = Three drunken frat boys
E4 = Himself drunk at a bar, rambling to himself
E5 = Some random internet source, when the "rumor" is actually announced as a deal

Why would Patrick Roy ever want to come back?

He has nothing to prove.

He holds nearly every goaltending record there is, is the most dominant playoff performer in the history of this game(so says the three Conn Smythes), and is enjoying life as a General Manager at home.

Let the king rest!

Yeah, Mr. E gets more and more pathetic each day.

Everyone else has said it - Roy's going to stay retired.

Yeah, and HF's decision to etch his name out is a decision that I find in really poor taste. We don't have any books around here, but if we did, they'd be burning.

It's simply not the way to solve an issue.

Stanley, if you have an issue with the way HFBoards handles something, feel free to discuss it with them, or in the Help forum.

Not here.

It's simply not the way to solve an issue.

I haven't bothered reading any of the actual rumors.

I would imagine it's highly unlikely Roy's coming back. Has anyone seen Roy recently? He's gotta be nice and plump after a number of years away from the action...just a guess.

But it would be nice to dust off the old Roy jersey and put it on again...*sigh*

(A Theodore jersey just wouldn't have the same feel, ya know?)

then you didnt see when he was allowed.

there were daily posts, and daily posts about the daily posts. And then all the Ek-ites coming to his defense every time one of his rumors were wrong. You can imagine how long those threads were.

Allowing his "rumors" is nothing more than allowing any new poster to just keep posting factually inaccurate posts 5-10 times a day.

That was before divealanche did his epic backpeddle on Aebischer.

Roy got asked if he wanted to come back after the Avs signed Kariya and Selanne and declined. He made sure to file his retirement papers to let everyone know for sure.

There was a rumor of Montreal trading Jose theodore and Brezzy for Roy's rights and Morris.

Agreed. Anyone of us can open up a free blogpsot account and claim to be an insider. That crap had no place here. The way I see it, "his" arrival on HF coincided conveniently with the end of the lockout. It's kinda like throwing a bunch of crazed and deprived frat boys in a room with one filthy stripper, it's bound to get messy and in the end no one is totally satisfied.
