Lindback to NYI

5th Round Pick

Anders Lindback

Saw someone propose this. Thoughts?

If Nabokov wants to retire then sure, but Garth wants Nabokov to come back and obviously wants to sign Halak. It seems like Lindback can only be a backup in the NHL so I'm fine with him coming in if Halak signs.

Fine with me. And by fine, I mean this is great.

It's hard to believe that Nashville ended up receiving Aberg, Sissons, & Diaby for Lindback.

As an Islanders fan if we didn't have the whole losing next year's first round pick on our back I would take a shot at Lindback and hope you get a steal(and he finally lives up to potential). As it stands now though I prefer something less risky(albeit not as high potential for a great pick up) for back up goalie

No interest. Just a horrible goaltender. Probably the only goaltender in the league worse than Kevin Poulin. Better off with no one in goal and playing 6 on 5.

Not sure what happened to him but hopefully he'll wind up with an organization that has a good goalie coach and can resurrect his career. Unfortunately that's not the Islanders since our goalies have not gotten better but regressed. One year with the Isles goalie coach and poor Anders wouldn't be able to play in a senior citizens league.

A fifth round pick for him from a team with a good goalie coach would be fair.

He'll be another goaltender, just like Mike Smith, to leave Tampa and flourish. Mark my words.

Yes, just saw the last salary was 2.2M and he's RFA now. But don't want to go to arbitration with him and 2.2M is much too much. I think he's not tradeable.

Yep, when options like Chad Johnskn and Greiss are out there for cheaper and probably better.

I sure hope the Isles will be looking at options with more upside as backup. Halak (assuming we sign him) does have injury issues.

Agree with that, isles need a reliable backup and a decent starter in Bridgeport.

At the time Lindback was a highly regarded young goalie who many around the league saw as a sure fire number one.

To me, there is a big diff between a stupid deal with bad logic and a reasonable deal with solid logic that just does not work out.

Our best bet to trade Lindy is to MON.. the fans thought he was so great and all.
