An odd play, but probably a good goal - what would have made it interesting would have been if Malkin touched the puck.

And I agree with others, that if (in your opinion) Lundqvist couldn't have made the save any way, should have no bearing on the call.
Sure. I do those more than I should, since I do know that it's no longer. I need to really slow...down and think better when I type when it's not really a good quality of mine.

Had Malkin touched the puck, no goal.

I was pissed at first, but after seeing the slow-mo replay, it is what it is.

It wasn't a high-stick, which is the only part of that play that is reviewable once a goal is called. I thought Malkin interfered with Hank strictly by the rules, but that's not reviewable, so whatever.

I did not realize that interference could happen after a play was over and the puck weas already in the net.

Let's call it retro-interference.

When I first saw this, I thought it was definitely goaltender interference. But watching it carefully, I agree with Woodhouse. It really looks like Hank loses the puck, and actually brings his hand up to block Malkin's stick away. The puck goes over Hank's blocker shoulder, not his glove shoulder, and he's staring at Malkin the whole time, not the puck.

I *DO* think goaltender interference should be reviewable, but I don't think this is goaltender interference, since it really looks like Lundqvist is actually initiating the contact.

Allright, this thread has run it's course.

We're just arguing in circles again.
