I know Toronto would have to add, that's why I don't really see it being get done. Especially to rival teams.

Not a chance, that isn't very good value at all. Getting Subban to the Islanders would probably mean giving up your current top pair and then some. I know that seems excessive but that's the likelihood. Subban won't be dealt, his value is too high for anyone to put the pieces together.

If Subban signs it and Montreal matches they have him until UFA. If Montreal doesn't match they are compensated with a first, second and third. That might actually be worth it for a team directly competing with Montreal and wanting to try to get Subban out of there one way or another. Highly unlikely, yes, but I've seen some strange things in my nearly thirty years.
The Habs would match and take their chances IMO.

Oh I agree. I'm just saying that a team could easily pitch an OS to him that would not cost them 4 1sts if he were to sign and Montreal were to let him walk. Of course, any GM who did that simply to try to strip Montreal of Subban, be it with the OS or hoping he walks as a UFA, would come across pretty bad within the hockey community.

Why isn't it good value? 5th overall is good value, plus a mid 1st round pick from last year who is progressing well, plus an early 2nd round pick and a roster player. Assuming the 5th overall pick will be either Bennett, Dal Colle or Ehlers, I don't see how that isn't a good return. I'm a lot higher on Pulock then a lot of posters here and there's no reason to think he won't be a top 4 d-man who's also capable of being on the teams top PP.

I would take that over accepting an offer sheet with 4 1st round picks and slightly behind accepting Hall straight up.

As it's been said this draft isn't a very deep one, I know there will end up being a few gems in the later rounds but value wise the 2nd doesn't hold much at all. The first again isn't a sure thing but obviously holds a lot of value so it would basically be potential top 4 D + potential top six forward + solid 2nd liner + crapshoot pick. Habs could get better than that.

From the Isles I'd want the core of the deal to be Hamonic + Nelson + Lee to add size up front and get a very good D man back.

Hmm, I was about to blame him for putting Nichushkin in the offer, but turns out I posted it

All things considered, I don't know if I could part with Nichushkin. It'd be a tough pill to swallow to see him tear it up elsewhere.

I wouldn't move PK alone for that package, to be honest. Wouldn't even think about it.

The Canucks do not possess the assets to land PK Subban.

Chiasson isn't bad either. Put up more points than Nichushkin did . But for real tho, big bodied which helps along the boards. Had a great start to the season, then was just a bit snakebitten to end the season. Plus he is a local kid.
And that 14th OA would probably net a good offensive piece too.

no way a plus would be considered to that Dillon/Nuke deal, already iffy like it is

The New York Islanders are one of the rare team that would have the pieces for Subban.

Ryan Strome
Travis Hamonic
1st pick (5th overall)
2nd pick (35th overall)

I wouldn't settle for less.

I know you won't like but your captain Tavares would love it as he is good friend with Subban and it would build them a solid core (Subban, Tavares).

Again this is all pure fantasy and I expect Subban to sign a 8 years deal as soon as the playoff are over for the habs.

I can't see Winnipeg making that trade or Eller and PK liking that change of scenery, though. I'd make the trade and hope that Kane has grown up enough to handle the Montreal nightlife and can stay healthy.
