Calgary is the least taxed place in Canada.

http://business.financialpost.com/20...ly-tax-havens/

that's from a few years ago, but I've heard the taxes have changed here actually making Alberta the place you can make the most money as a hockey player. Even if that isn't true looking at that chart its a difference in like 6k.

Hotter girls is highly debatable, you've obviously never been to the Stampede. Hockey's popularity here would give him the pick of the litter.

As a Panther fan I want Hayes to sign in Florida. Maybe he likes skiing or the mountains, who knows.

For the record I've been to South Florida and have lived in Calgary for over 20 years.

That's more Winnipeg than Calgary. The climate is pretty mild due to the proximity to the mountains and the elevation.

All half dozen or so of us I converted a couple over at one point and time. Some bandwagon fans when Bure/Belfour jumped on board. Not too many true blue (errr red) diehards.

Now the 2 teams he would appear most likely to sign with are the Calgary Flames (reunite that Boston College line) or Florida Panthers (DT, his brother, and good friend Pirri.) So, do you want to make a big attempt to sign him? I think it's worth it.

Tl;dr Do you want K. Hayes badly?

Edit: the "incident" that people may mention was that he was suspended for, whilst drunk at a party, errr using a hallway as a bathroom. I don't see this as a big deal lol, we were all 20 at some point
I'll summarize it to save some having to read their board. The prettiest girl at prom was just rejected and she's not sure how to handle it.

Apparently the blackhawk fans on their forum are convinced kayes wont sign with the panthers because we have bjugstad, trochek, shore, and pirri all playing RW next year.
Lol.

The Panthers board is very diverse. I'd say Canadians and Europeans make up at least 30% of all posters here.

I am curious of this as well. As far as I can tell it's a bit of a mystery on him, because he did absolutely nothing until this year.

Meh I have been reading their thread since the beginning, half the posters can't understand why Hayes would rather sign with a bad nhl team than a good AHL team, and they were trashing us an awful lot for a team with the second longest Cup drought.

Right, I'd say about half the CHI fans understand why he's not signing. Like you said though, the rest are confused how anyone wouldn't want to risk their career rotting away in the farm team for the Chicago Blackhawks.

If they've been through the last 15 years, they are pretty diehard imo.

Yeah, he's big, strong, really slick hands, good shot, got a knack for scoring goals around the net. Isn't scared of going to the net. Great hockey sense, good defensively.

His skating looked a bit clunky what I saw from him. Not as bad though as with J Hayes.

Does he compare favorably to Pirri?

It sounds like he can only help this team. It would be nice to sign him.

The Hayes brothers have pretty good hockey bloodlines.

A bit of Keith Tkachuk and Tom Fitzgerald in the mix.

Yeah it's not bad per se, the same as a lot of big guys. He has to improve on it as I'm sure he will.

They are very different players, Pirri is a puck possession playmaker, who also has a good shot. K.Hayes can make plays too but in the NHL he'd generally be the guy finishing off plays. He's a bigger, stronger, more straightforward player than Pirri.

Skating is one factor. He has really good hands but idk if he can be that much of a puck possession player in the NHL. He'd probably just be mostly a finisher. To be a 1st line PF he'd also have to get a lot meaner.
