Players who obscurely played for your team

List of decent players or top picks who played on your team but for a limited time and no one ever considered them "your team" players.

Boston
Al Iafrate
Sergei Gonchar
Tomas Kaberle
Martin Lapointe
Bryan Berard
Michael Nylander
Brian Leetch
Alex Zhamnov
Paul Coffey
Jaromir Jagr

Jacques Plante for the Oilers. I once told my friends he once played for the Oilers, and they thought I was lying.

Bondra, Hasek (could have been something great), and Barrasso for the Sens.

I would add Marty Rucinsky, Theo Fleury, Jari Kurri, and Radim Vrbata. All brief stints with the team, though perhaps not as obscure as some other examples.

Avs:

Fleury
Rolston
Selanne
Kariya
Kasparaitis
Barnaby
Gratton
Kurri
Salo

Missing some obvious ones, probably. Leaving off guys like Turgeon or Bourque who were both around more than a year and had an identity with the team, even if it paled compared to where else they'd been.

Paul Coffey. I forget he was a Flyer all the time.

Not right now, obviously.

The Leafs really had a collection of current/former star players (from other teams) on those 2002-2004 teams. Shame they never really put it all together.

I still find it hard to believe that Mats Sundin retired a Canuck.

Habs after 2000s: They played under 82 games with the team, and coincidentally all are right-handed players who have worn #20 in Montreal:

Robert Lang
Bryan Smolinski
Mike Johnson
James Wisniewski
Colby Armstrong
Thomas Vanek (Soon to be)

Adam Oates
Petr Nedved
Sergei Samsonov

And apparently Jacques Plante according to this thread wow

Cant believe some Ottawa fans are forgetting Peter Bondra.

I guess that is the point of the thread.

Brooks laich also played 1 game for us the same year.

A number of Canucks who won't be remembered for their time in Vancouver:

Sean Burke
Arturs Irbe
Joey Kocur
Sammy Pahlsson
Mike Peca
Derek Roy
Mathieu Schneider
Bryan Smolinski
Marco Sturm
Mats Sundin
Esa Tikkanen
Rick Vaive
Scott Walker
Ossi Vaananen

edit: doesn't technically count, but Owen Nolan played some preseason games a couple years back on a PTO with the Canucks and it always looked weird.
