[QUOTE=I Will Son;84703807]Yes he said that Wilson should be that and he hopes for it. But he also said we need to go out and get one that isn't on our team right now[/QUOTE/]

He said he is looking for a big time forward. I will be waiting to see it happen.

Think it's the best hire we could make and I am excited. USA hockey connection eases the transition a bit. Lots more to say, but typing from my phone in an airport.

I like it. We'll see what happens.

I don't think it's unrealistic to expect that a few guys will benefit from a more offensive system. Especially guys like Wilson, MDZ, Stalberg, Forsberg, who may have had a tough time under the old system.

We'll see if it's ultimately successful.

A lot of the conversations in this thread remind me of a guy standing on the deck of the sinking Titanic, complaining about the sea-worthiness of the lifeboats. I have no idea if Laviolette is the answer, but I'm glad as heck to be off the sinking S.S. Trotz.

I think there is probably at least a 12 hour time difference since he is in Europe/Belarus or wherever.......

I think they would have moved to KC instead, opening up Bridgestone, so the OKC Thunder would move here and the Atlanta Thrashers would have relocated to Nashville instead of Pegger. So we would still have hockey here, just slightly worse then the Preds. But then we would have Trotz2 Maurice. YUK! But we would have the Thunder!

Plaster couldn't tell you a thing about hockey with a tour guide, a map and a tutorial from Scotty Bowman himself. The guy is a buffoon. Always has been, always will be. They should team him up with Mark Howard and they could have a blowhard show together and see who the bigger d-canoe is.

I still remember the time when the Preds were number 1 in points in the NHL for the first time and he was talking about who the coaching hire was for the Arkansas football. It was after college ball had ended. I still have no idea why this was such a huge topic but the Preds were number 1 in points yet he thought it wasn't worthy enough to talk about. When the team gets a media that is willing AND able to talk about hockey seriously, maybe the rest of the hockey world will take us seriously but until then, the world looks at us as a bunch of hillbillies that know nothing. Tom Callahan is the best we've got and it's too bad he's on late at night.

Love the hire and can't wait for the season to start!

(And thankful I have SiriusXM and only listen to 102.5 on the drive home after games, Plaster comes off as an arrogant so and so to to me)

Cullen: Our game will probably look a lot like how it was towards the end of the season. We will do a lot more skating.

Cullen: He brings a lot of fire to the game. He has a lot of passion.

Weber: I think everyone is going to like playing with the puck and playing offensively.

Cullen: He is a great fit for our team and what we need going for. He has a real ability to bring out the best in all of his players.

Weber: Very Excited

Weber: Credits teammates on Norris nomination

The guy is a joke who has absolutely 0 knowledge of the sport. He is lucky he has a job. He makes us look like a joke when he is considered to be the "expert" hockey media in the area.

yeah, Plas was a force the summer that Balls tried to steal the team... kudos to him... but it still doesnt mean he is particularly knowledgable on the specifics of hockey vis a vis coaching, strategy, etc.

No not at all and i am not one of his backers before you go that route. I will defend him on saying a head NHL coach should of at least been on the phone during a press conference naming him the coach. The guy does deserve some respect for what he did and there is really no reason for the "hf expert" bashing on a opinion that frankly is justified.

By the way what corporate owned radio stations talk about are determined by people in suits in a business meeting. Football is #1 in this area and always will be. Get over it!

Poile admitted that we have been offensively challenged our whole existence excluding the Kariya years

No I haven't taken the afternoon guys seriously for a bit (can't really deal with the 104.5 guys either unless they are being actually funny making fun of themselves); but I do give him a pass generally, especially after seeing people ask him sports related questions while he was trying to urinate in the restrooms behind Section 303/304... Folks just have to know their boundaries!! At least he TRIES to talk hockey now which is a start... #babysteppin'

Makes me wonder how Poile felt all these years since drafting Wilson. Probably grinding his teeth in his office every day.

I will add...I personally don't know who the guy is, but there is an all purpose media thread stickied. If this needs to continue, please do it there. Civilized....no name calling or personal shots (not just directed at you PFL).

EDIT...well, there was. Oops. General Preds thread would work, too.

Thank you.

Poile on NHL network said he is leaning towards stability with the team forward roster and giving guys a chance with a new coach.

Plaster mentioned hockey during the Preds offseason?
