Perhaps they should have let Lundqvist walk away right?

Do you see how many goalies are going to be in open market? I'd rather give that money to a kane/toews. Tandon

Zack Parise instead of Hugh Jessiman?

Ok you're literally steamrolling over that horse.

It goes on forever…

Check out this gem…
Quote:
Lou Lamoriello, the Devils' president, could hardly believe that the Rangers and the Islanders had passed on Zach Parise at the 2003 National Hockey League entry draft.

"I honestly didn't think, after seeing Zach Parise play when he was a freshman at North Dakota, where we were drafting, that we would have had the opportunity," Lamoriello said recently.

But as the architect of three Stanley Cup championship teams since 1995, Lamoriello is known for drafting shrewdly.

He traded up to select Parise 17th over all. Parise, now 21, is poised to make his Madison Square Garden debut tonight against the Rangers.

The Rangers passed on Parise and Nilsson to draft Dartmouth's Hugh Jessiman, a right wing who was among their first cuts in training camp.

"It's a cop-out in a sense, but the jury's still out," Rangers Coach Tom Renney said recently. (He was the Rangers' vice president for player personnel at the time of the draft). "But I'll see down the road, when Hugh Jessiman's a Ranger playing, who might be the more dominant player on the ice at that point in time."

So now we can add "crybabies" along with losers and heartless in the list of adjectives to describe this group.

I can't believe my eyes with some of these quotes. AV saying they are playing their hearts out? Richards happy to be getting away from NY and go on the road?

It's downright disturbing, there is no accountability whatsoever with this group. Nash and Stepan are smiling on the ice and bench like they are thinking about their next golf outing, and they could care less with what's going on.

Between AV saying this team is playing their hearts out, and Nash saying last year's playoff for him was good, the group we have right now will never be a serious contender to do anything more than make the playoffs as a 5-8 seed and maybe advance a round or two if Hank plays lights out.

I just don't understand how our PP and offense can be just as atrocious as it was last season with Torts' defense style? I was one of the people happy to see torts go because I thought we might score more, and that our PP would improve. And even though our offense wasn't lights out at least our PP was decent in the regular season.

It's just unfathomable.

You know what else is unfathomable? How Dolan is gonna happy OK another multimillion dollar buyout this summer and then turn around and let Sather not only keep his job but overspend on Stasny to fill the hole.

Rinse. Repeat. See you next year.

For those complaining about fans booing Nash, I can tell you it almost came to blows in 224 when a couple people kept booing about halfway through the 3rd and a lot of the surrounding fans really went after them for it. It was pretty sad, but I'm glad a lot of people were giving them **** for it.

God and we were all calling for it too! We knew we shouldn't have passed over those two for McIlrath. That's one instance where the fans knew better than the professionals.

I wish more people would boo him. Maybe he'd waive his NMC.

Same. I never get myself overly optimistic with this team, but I thought we were ready to take the next step. Thought we had the best 4 total lines we've had going into a playoffs in years, plus great D, and Henrik ready to stand on his head.

In the end we just look completely gassed. Tonight was one of the weakest efforts I've ever seen in any game I've been too...

You spelled Zuccarello wrong.
Or is Zuccarelli plural, as in many instances of Zuccarello?
I truly do love his game.

It's a tough one. I doubt that anybody can figure out how the Rangers powerplay can be so impotent.
One theory is that the powerplay is indicative of where your team is anyway. Are the Rangers a creative and inventive threat 5-on-5? Not lately, though they went through a good streak earlier this season.

No team's powerplay woes are easily fixed. Many teams with explosive firepower up front have had lousy powerplays. I would bet my mortgage payment that plugging Tarasenko in would not fix the powerplay. Of course, it's a bet I will never have to make, but that is how I look at it.

No, it's on purpose. I just like the sound of the name "Mats Zuccarelli." Feel like he should be Fonzie's sidekick

It's not as impossible as it may seem. L.A. just did FOUR in a row.

You take it one game at a time. Just need to play well, and get some puck luck...

Win Friday on the road (something we've done well all year) come back to MSG on Sunday for Game 6...win on home ice, and Game 7 on the road…anything can happy (remember Game 7 in Washington last year?)

Just sayin...
