We can criticize individual goals, but it would take a pretty amazing display to win this series when we scored 2 goals in 3 games.

The 4 most deserving teams getting to the conference finals?

Sounds okay to me.

Yeah, I meant league. I'm a little drunk. And even pushing it back further to this round you have NYR Anaheim and Montreal have typically been involved. Only new team is Minnesota really.

Seems like that's a common trend with this team. Funny how 2 years ago we needed the talent to go along with the effort and now we need the effort to go along with the talent.

Just never seems to be the right mix of guys on this team. Amazing.

I dont think one has to do with the other. We wouldn't criticize if they weren't bad goals. We'd be losing either way, but at least one dude would be stepping up.

We'll never know but what we do know is Tampa will be picking a player in the first round thanks to that trade.
What do we have to show for it?

Kreider looked a bit rusty but actually played pretty well. Henrik played well.

There seemed to be a hundred giveaways. The forwards as a group sometimes over two zones away from the d-men. Pretty bad support--too many forced plays. If there was a killer in this game it was the Sutter shorthanded goal.

Nash and St. Louis really looked like **** here. St. Louis has had playoff success before. Nash building a history of underachieving in big games. Both were horrible tonight.

Anyway Stralman a horrible play on the first Penguins goal. Nash a horrible play on the second Penguins goal. Staal got owned on the third Penguin goal and game winner and St. Louis leaving Kunitz all the time in the world to finish on the 4th Penguin goal. Lundqvist is not to blame for this loss.

Not sure I'm going to be around for Friday's game which might be the season ender. My son graduates from college on Saturday and I'm going to be on the road a bit on Friday. If they play anything like they did tonight I don't know if I want to watch anyway.

Hm. I wonder who is to blame? Could it be the cigar chomping idiot who continues to drag our organization into a new dark age?

Everyone sucking means they all have to go home knowing they share a bit of the responsibility. Although with some of the egos on this team that might be impossible.

The truth is that if they outworked, outhit, outhustled and outchanced the Pens, not a soul would be booing.

Blame the schedule all you want, but they clearly have no desire to do the little things to win.

Winning takes effort. The Rangers are feeling sorry for themselves.

Are you including the one where MSL left his man in front of the net alone. Yeah, that's a weak goal.

Tell us again how fine MSL has been in the playoffs. That is my favorite current fairy tale.

Are you in some sort of contest with Snowblind?

I don't even think it is that. My own opinion is that he is not capable of being a game changer. It is not in him. Best we realize at and not pretend otherwise. A rude awakening for me, because I recall some really game breaking plays by Nash when he got to the Rangers.

Edit: the early Rangers Nash was better.

Usually Maloney is the one who doesn't mind calling out the Rangers, but he actually took umbrage when the guys were blaming the Rangers for this game.

The positive of all of this for me is it's not as painful as last year and not even close to as painful as two seasons ago. Those teams laid it all out on the line and fought hard. That makes me want it for them. At this point, as much as I want my team to win, I don't really want specific players on this team to hoist a Cup. They don't fight for it and they sure as hell don't deserve it unless they do something spectacular.
