Our team is built, whether we like it or not, where we need Hank to stand on his head, make that save, and keep it a 3-2 game. He didn't. Technically speaking you're right, although I don't think Kunitz is one of the best shooters in the game. He was all alone with a quick snipe. Not really his fault. But from the team's perspective, Hank needs to make that stop. Did any of that make sense lol
Henrik did exactly what you asked of him when the score was 3-1. Three or four fantastic saves on defensive breakdowns to keep his team in it, and allow them to make it 3-2. Then the team proceeds to continue ******** the bed defensively. There's only so much Hank can do.

I won't deny it, this wasn't one of his best games. But to be mad at him for not playing like he did in game 2 is asinine.

5 goals in 4 games, and Lundqvist is a target. You're all nuts with this argument.
Yeah, I don't think Lundqvist is the reason we lost, I think the lack of goal scoring is the problem. I didn't mean it like that. But I do think that we need Super Hank to advance and Super Hank hasn't shown up. He did stand on his head for periods of the game tonight, he made some amazing saves, that's true.

I don't think he's a target. I think that's where the frustration from certain posters come from. He needs to be better than he's been for us to advance. That being said it wouldn't matter because we can't score ****ing goals.

they had what 15 shots? 2 in the 3rd period? no way theyre getting 4 goals, even if Flower is in net.

Though in Rangerland shots seem to have no correlation whatsoever with goals or else Nash would've at least scored 1 goal on his 50 shots in the playoffs.

They don't fight for it and they sure as hell don't deserve it unless they do something spectacular.
The only five players I'd want to lift the Cup right now is Lundqvist, Poo, Zucc, Brass and Moore.

Everyone else can eat crap.

We saw the same thing in the 2nd round in 2008 with a totally different roster. They were losing all the battles.

You're fooling yourself if you think the players hate the offseason and would do anything to lift the Cup. Most players don't give a ****. They're happy with a round or two but care more about vacationing.

Being a pro athlete is like any other job. Some people just like a paycheck and time off whenever they can. Some like to work and strive to be better every day.

I really like Zuccarello. Wish we could clone 11 more guys like him. The guy is nonstop effort and skill to boot.

LOL, yeah, whatever. I want him to shut out the world and hoist the cup in the most glorious of fashions. Anything short of that...epic fail.

It's one thing to lose and you played a hard fought game....it's another thing to lose like this, to not show any heart or energy, to play so sloppy, not be able to make or receive a pass, to ignore defensive responsibilities completely, to barely get any shots on a goalie who is known to be shaky, He was hardly organized in net on the little action around the net that we were able to create. But hey why get more shots on net when we can play on the perimeter and turn it over.

Not to mention the constant soft goals Lundqvist has given up. All the great saves he makes are negated if he keeps giving up horrific goals like some of the ones he has given up this year.
It's nice to know that someone other than me watched the series.

Not one Ranger brought their A game.

What a disappointing series. Never would have thought they would be as bad as they have been.

Also, what's up HF.

I see the logic in that, and I agree with it.
One thing I think about is how easily this team has allowed breakaways, along with other defensive lapses. I am trying to be accurate and not be hyperbolic, but is it 3 breakways now in this series, 4 perhaps?

Edit: that strong defensive effort we got used to, is not really there.

Its a stupid argument for several reasons. Tonight its a stupid argument because Lundqvist played extremely well when it was 3-1 to even keep the dead team in front of him alive at all. So, really, its not about making "the big save" its more like making the 7 big saves.

You got to be a fool or have amnesia to be making that type of argument after this game and how the team in front of him looked.

Logically, you would think that, and I'm not questioning that.

I'm questioning the way the schedule was put together, because it didn't HAVE to be put together that way. That's all I'm saying. There's no logical reasoning behind the 3 games in 4 nights to start the series.

And, the ratings for the Penguins in Pittsburgh are astronomical. They get something like a 50.

It's just horrible scheduling that started in the 1st round when we only played 3 games in a week and had to have 2 Sunday games and a back to back. Then we have to have a back to back to start round 2.

Forget the xXxX show in front Hank is no 8m goalie. He is a farce. The only goal I don't fault him for was the fourth.

McD is on drugs. The only was you can explain how bad he's been.

So much bad. I hate this team.

I thought some of the only players who were any good tonight were Nash and Kreider. Kreider started out flying, was physical, and had lots of chances in front. Nash had the puck a ton had several breaks lots of shooting chances but everyone will say he sucks because he didn't score and because it's his fault he missed the net on a 2 on 1 when the puck randomly just lifted itself in the air as he was about to shoot.

MSL was terrible. No D-zone coverage at all and constant turnovers. Stepan can't win a draw. Brassard was invisible. Zucc was ok but not great. Pouliot did very little. Hagelin did nothing other than that one goal. I can't remember one shift even seeing Richards on the ice. Moore couldn't handle the puck. Carcillo was awful. Boyle was ok. Girardi is clueless with the puck and offensive positioning. McDonagh is clearly out of it. Staal and Stralman turning the puck over like crazy. Nothing notable for Diaz/Klein I think. Lundqvist lots of good saves but the constant soft goals he allows is a joke and a huge let down. I'd rather a goalie that will give up goals on the great chances and at least make all the easy saves. Those goals he gives up are too demoralizing.

This isn't even putting unrealistic expectations on your goaltender, its putting impossible expectations on him.
