I find you're being far too dismissive of Jets fans. Jets fans should care about the farm team, because that's where the in-house talent lies. I want them to succeed greatly because it's great for the culture. I agree that your (IceCaps fans') fandom is more visceral than ours, but to say we shouldn't care about them is doing them and us a great disservice.

Yea trouty please don't mention this secret of mine but I have found that I am closer to the Ice Caps than I was to the Moose. We were a sponsor of the Moose from Day 1 until the last game and we always supported the owners but I could never get over the the NHL leaving. Now with the Ice Caps I see all our prospects and I feel more connected to the entire team especially this years version. I love how they compete.

What was your opinion on Cody Sol last year?

I never saw him play other than in the pre season at the ice plex. I think alot of the HFboard has the opinion that he sucks and that might be true but in the preseason he towered over everyone.

I thought Hill struggled with the puck some in the first round, but I could be thinking of O'Neill.

Also, this. I love seeing the kids come up and excell in the pro game. Seeing Morrissey get his first pro goal is awesome.

It's going to be a battle to see who'll crack first. We hold the edge in forward talent, but Gibson is an unreal tender.

Considering games played, Gibson and Hutchinson should be #1 and #2 so far in the playoffs.

There were a few games where Hill was struggling a lot in his own zone last series, but I thought he played very well last 2 games.

He's one sneaky and tenacious dude - he did that multiple times with the Jets this year too. Fun to watch him on the forecheck.

He could start hitting the goal again, though.

I think he was told to work hard like Wright. I believe he took it to mean, play like Wright.

Maybe He weirdly was missing so many chances over the last 3-4 games I've seen them play.

Overall they have to be more productive up front if they want to win the Calder Cup. This could come back at them at some point. I was really hoping they'd score at least 4, maybe 5 or 6 goals yesterday, once they scored their second goal. Caps have to crack Gibsons confidence.

It must be nice having an above league average goaltender. Clutchinson is giving the 'Caps a legitimate chance to win the series. He's going to make Jets training camp interesting for sure.

Can the 'Caps steal two games in Norfolk?

I doubt it. I think they'll tie in Norfolk and Ice Caps win the series 4-2 or 4-3 afterwards.

Its 3 games in VA, before game 6 and 7 here. I'd guess the Caps get 2 of 3 on the road. I see it going 7.

Oh, I thought 2 games and they get back. If so, I think they'll get 2 out of 3 as well. Coming back with a 3-2 lead, they'll win it in 6.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do that for travel cost reasons, etc. 2-3-2 for the 7 game series. Not sure if this is only for the IceCaps because of their location, or a standard thing. Anyone know?

Another player I'd like to talk about is Brendan Kichton: What's going on with him?

I don't think I've seen him make big plays in the O-zone since basically the playoffs started. He looks pretty invisible, actually it looks like Morrissey is taking over his position. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Josh has the most PP-points by the end of the series.

*edit*

and btw: Former Ice Cap Dean Arsene retires

I think Kichton's size is hurting him recently. Aggressive forechecking is knocking him off the puck more than I noticed in the regular season.

IIRC there is a maximum distance between towns for a 2-2-1-1-1 series. Above that its 2-3-2. Same thing in the first round, less than the magic distance its 2-2-1, above it 2-3. Its why the Caps have started both of their first series's on the road even though they had the better record both years.

I'm pretty sure the Moose always had 2-3-2 series as well
