MSG. Censoring the fans ?

I will have a big time post on this later today but has anyone else run into this at msg?
Being told your cheering to loud

Told you can't yell anything negative about the team..

No talking or cheering directed towards Sather?

Got a great story for you

I think the problem might be people booing too loud. AV called out the fans, which I don't think he should of done that.

I had a friend tell me this last night. I told him it had to be BS.

Any season ticket holder hear about this?

When the "Homo Larry" chants started a few years ago, heard security was telling people they couldn't say it. Never heard anything about saying negative things about the team or Sather.

Me and 3 of my friends were cheering and chanting (let's go rangers) and positive things. We got kicked out for "being too loud". It was about 5 years ago. They ended up loosing to the the Panthers 3-0 so I didn't really miss an exciting game.

Thankfully I had some loud mouths behind me the last time I went to the game so I didn't feel so stupid doing my usual yelling. Removing most of the blue seats has totally killed any atmosphere the place had. Up there you could scream like a lunatic because pretty much EVERYONE was screaming like a lunatic. Now I feel like I'm doing it in a church.

One of the many reasons I gave up my tickets after 10 years.

MSG wants to attract the high-brow clientele because those are the folks with the cash. Thats it really.

I think we were in the same lounge for Game 3. A few guys were giving it to Sather (telling him to sign Stastny and that Stepan sucked), loud and close enough that it was clearly audible to Slats. While Sather kinda just sat there, I think it was Jim Schoenfeld who first gestured to the fans to sit down (who misinterpreted it as a thumbs down signal, which they reciprocated). As the yelling continued, JS flipped his **** started running towards our lounge. He never got there, but a few large security guys did. I didn't want to miss the game, so I did not hear the conversation that took place, but I don't think anyone was thrown out.

Seems that is Dolan had his way, the crowd would be as silent as if they were at a Play on Broadway.

But, the Corporate ****** bags have complained that they cannot hear the other guy on the cell phone during the game so they need to have the noise level lowered

Or as silent as a J.D. & The Straight Shot concert.

Yea. In defense of the Sather box, I had the same upset reaction to that proposition.

Lmao this is comical but also terrible. There isnt much security in the blue seats 400s today...whoever is left there yells however they want, including myself and was never told not to. There was some security up there last night with a few pens fans but no fights. Any flyers fans last round were getting it bad, though nobody said anything to my knowledge about stopping. They warn you before the game about obcene yelling, cursing and all that kind of stuff. I think if youre in the lower bowl youre more likely to get in trouble for it, or certain spots in the 200s. In the blue seats things can still get rowdy, on a lucky day.

Ps...if I saw Dolan id definitely yell JD and the straight shots suck. And If sather was close enough to hear me, I would definitely let him hear it about ruining this team with the Nash trade.

Yelling this AT Sather and yelling things ABOUT Sather are two completely different things.

This topic is worthy of its own thread, but please be sure to avoid any further classist remarks about the wardrobe, occupations, or salaries of certain segments of fans that attend games at Madison Square Garden.

I have never been told not to cheer at a game in my life so I find that hard to believe. If a fan is verbally accosting anyone from another fan to a player to a team executive that fan runs the risk of being asked to quiet down or leave in almost every arena in the country.

I've received many free passes to see that idiot and his band and I always threw them in the trash.

I can understand if some drunken dopes were yelling the whole game and making it their show rather than the game being the show. I don't like sitting near those clowns.

But they blew it by not giving those dopes a section like the old blue seats were to the 70's & 80's crowds. I remember my first time up in the blues, with my Uncle when I was 11 yrs old. Ya know, the Uncle who exposes you to a different world Well, I'll never forget the guys in the blues - blue collar, smokers(not just cigs up there), drinkers, everyone knew each other. Good times.
