Kadri's already a 50point center and Gardiners already a top 4 D. Their young enough to take 20 steps forward and improve drastically.

Yikes. You realize that is atleast what Kadri is now and he still has a lot more upside than that. He scored a near PPG in his first full NHL a season (albeit lockout shortened).

And you're way off on Gardiner. Way off. He led the leafs in even strength ice time and he was dominant in the last third of the season and by far the leafs best player while also leading te team in scoring over the last 20 games of the season. He's already way beyond what you said he has potential to become.

It was stated some time ago that Holland would be the 2nd line replacement for Kadri if he was traded. I doubt Bolland signs bc it will just be too expensive IMO. Gauthier will be looking to take that 3rd line spot but I'd rather the 19-20 year old to stay down for another 2-3 years, properly develop then come up when ready.

If Kadri goes, Holland is going to stay.

Only way it happens is with 8th and Gardiner for 3rd, otherwise nothing of interest.

Kadri doesn't interest me.
It would need to be Braun, or in a package for Pavelski.

Jensen
Tanev

for

Kadri
Gardiner

It gives us something new to discuss and provides a shake-up? I have no idea, it's not like the Leafs want to get older haha.
Tanev for Gardiner is fair. Jensen has no value vs Kadri posting up 50 pts in a sophomore year which everyone considers "bad" for him.

Gardiner for Tanev is mostly a lateral move, and Vancouver won't offer what Toronto wants for Kadri so there goes any trade between us.

Kesler is also not a spring chicken popping 70 points anymore. He isn't old or over the hill or anything but it's safe to say that with his style of play he's got a maximum of 2-3 good years left before he starts sharply declining. If the rumoured deal is Kesler to anaheim for the 10th overall pick, you'd better believe you're adding to him for Kadri and Gardiner who each could fetch top 10 picks in this draft.
Agree to disagree on Tanev I suppose, I think he is a better player than Gardiner. The kid played considerable time on the top shut down unit of a deep blue line, and he looked exceptional while doing it.

What type of players would you want for Kadri? Are you thinking package him with other assets to acquire a more established player? Anyone in mind?

So, let's see if i have this right. The Leafs 2 biggest needs are defense and center....so we trade a defenseman and 2 centers for a winger and a downgrade at center?

Serious question. Why would The Leafs want to move them then? Seems to me if you have quality young guys, you build around them with good vets. Why are they always coming up in trade rumours?

We'll take Gardiner for the rights to Dan Cleary and Todd Bertuzzi. They'll provide the veteran leadership the Leafs so desperately need.

And so the Maple Leafs offseason madness plan begins.

Step right up folks! Name the player you want and the price you are willing to pay. Dreger should wear a carny outfit.

I don't think you'd get all 3 of Gardiner, Kadri and 1st for Pavelski, its too steep then.

I'm of the opinion that Braun and Gardiner are fairly close in value. What's the plus?

Yes...sort of. The player would need to be an upgrade as well as younger.

**Why are Canucks fans interested? I have been told countless times that Canucks won't deal with Nonis anyways.

Wideman is pretty much a cap dump, we need R shots, but 2-way, good defensive guys for the top 4, he's also not in an age bracket we'd like.

We're good on wing as well.

We need a top line C, and top 4D with right shots.

Not opposed to packaging our assets to get what we need, but not going to move them if it doesn't address our needs.

Tanev is exactly the type of defenseman we need, I just don't know how I feel about dealing Kadri for him. I would want the Canucks to add, but realistically it's probably fair value.

Braun is not going anywhere, he is a smooth skating shut down dman with a good shot, just too uncommon. Seriously the guy is an amazing skater.

Demers for Gardner makes sense, similar value that strengthens both teams weak side.

I would add Irwin/Kennedy to the Pavs deal, but I'd want all 3 assets coming back if we're moving our 40goal 2 way center.
