But anyway, i'll give the benefit of the doubt. If he's 192, that's good. Still, he could use a few more pounds

Well, then I suggest that nhl.com, tsn.com, sportsnet.ca update their websites.

Don't know if I like that deal......I'm just really fond of Carlo. What round was Kronwall drafted in?

Kronwall is going to be a good one.

He led his AHL team in scoring as a defenceman.

He'll be positionally sound defensively like Lidstrom if not huge and hulking.

1st round in 2000. He's the Wings top prospect according to HF.

Possibly but they would see these guys in person and if they couldn't tell the difference between a guy who was between 150+ to 190+ then there is something wrong. I could see 5 lbs maybe even 10 lbs and that's stretching it but were talking in some cases almost 40 lbs.... I find that kinda funny..

Why? Because they're brothers? That doesn't make it a good pairing.

Kornwell is intriguing same for Zetts but Kabby could be near the top of the league in points this season. I just don't have much faith in Zatterberg at all personally I don't think he's all what people make him out to be. If he was why would Detroit be giving a future scoring leader up for what I would consider so little if he is going to be that good. And I would love to see Cola play a regular shift with Toronto hell we waited for him and watched him so close since he as drafted... On a side note the Kornwell we have in our system aint he the brother of Niklas????

Zetterberg seems to be fairly injury prone also. Not exactly what we need.

Kaberle = czech league mvp.... He has been said to have found all the right parts to his game. Especially with these new rules in the nhl benefitting him now.

I don't know.

yeah that to... we already have a lineup of Lindros, Allison, Antropov, Klee, Belfour who are all so injury prone or have to play through injuries so much you get use to not seeing these guys in the lineups. I really get sick of watching game after game waiting for a injury to happen looks like this year wouldn't be any different if I had any games to watch..

FWIW

Ken Holland GM of the Detroit Red Wings was on Leafs Lunch on Friday's show ..

He was asked yesterday directly if there was any truth to the fact he was moving Zetterberg ..

He said that there is ZERO truth to any rumours and Zetterberg will be a Detroit Red Wing this year .. He has discussion with his agent and things are moving along on a new contract .. The amount in fact is not really so much the problem the sticking point is the term (# of years) .. Holland wants to lock him up long term and Zetterberg camp wants a shorter deal for the money Detroit is offering ..

So you can take that for what its worth but its straight from the GM horses mouth yesterday ..

Wasn't robert reichel mvp in some international league as well.

Anyways, Detroit moves kaberle to the wing and scores 80+ points is my prediction.

That don't mean squat though. Gm's are not going to come out and say there going to trade someone or what teams are involved. How many times have you heard in the past of a GM saying he wasn't gonna trade a player then they turn around and trade him a few days later...

I don't want both Kronvalls on the team. Besides Zetterberg has only played one season what has he proven. Anyone can have a good season, remember kaberle's first seasons? Kaberle is still young and wayyy better.

Yeah eh... Heard people talking about how he would be ruling the NHL in a few years because he has superb offensive skills. I don't totally dislike Zetts but hell this is a guy who is drastically over rated....

On the face of it, I'm not too happy about it. I think the Leafs may be thinking that they would have difficulty retaining Kabs who will be a free agent fairly soon (UFA? RFA? Next year?) because of his age and years in the league.

But I can't worry too much about things that are still rumours and over which I maintain little control.

I'd say the deal is pretty even.

Zetterberg is talented, but he hasn't done much yet to show he's anythig special but could (IMHO will) break out soon, probably a future 60pt 2nd line Winger.

Kronwall is IMHO an absolutely stellar prospect that could jump into the NHL and do a fine job as a #4 guy immediately and should become a #1-2 D-Man in time.

FOR

Colaiacovo is a good, but not great prospect that could become anything from a #2-4 D-Man.

Antropov is a decent player with perennially untapped upside.

Kaberle, a stellar offemsive D-Man capable of putting up 40pts on a regular basis, and based on his Czech season is still improving... plus the new rules should emphasize his abilities. Decent defensively IMHO (Though few others agree), soft as hell but positionally strong and with the quickness to recover from his miscues.

I don't believe there is any such deal on the table however, so it's all theoretical.
