Niskanen is the best defenseman available on the market. He will get $5-6m+

Yeah, Nisky is getting PAID, and hopefully (and most likely, I got faith in Hexy) not by us.

Also it's hard to know whether any of our prospects will make the team with Hextall's approach on development. I could see anywhere from two of them making the team to all of them starting in the AHL.

If Cammelerri doesnt pan out then i wouldnt mind having Read on the 1st line and signing a two-way scorer like Vrbata for the 3rd line.

Vrbata is a better player than Read. I'd be worried if he can carry his success away from Phoenix, however.

You can go 10% over the cap in the offseason, right? Then LTIR Pronger. I think...

I have no clue if any of the prices I put for the FAs are accurate. I don't know what I'm doing.

Oh, and I made Grossmann and Vinny disappear.

Save for MacKenzie, this would be a pretty awesome roster, but some of those UFAs seem to be undervalued. I think Nikitin and Stalock will get more, but I don't know about the others.

I'm shocked anyone would waste $1 million or more of cap space on Emery after what we saw this year. Plenty of goalies making less than that had much better years.

Lindback is only a good goalie when he plays against us. He had a terrible season overall - .891.

I never thought about getting Myers. He had a down year so it could be a possibility this season, but I highly doubt they would let him go.

Hexy saying he wants his team strong down the middle (no kidding, right?) and the Flyers interest in Kessler (I think the Pens trade for him this summer) makes me believe the Flyers will be heavily interested in Stastny.. Homers comments saying how Schenn has developed slower than expected and thus remains unsigned leads me to believe he will be delt'

Lines 1-3 each have a playermaker in Giroux, Voracek, and Akeson with snipers and a board player to retrieve the puck. Line 4 is defensively reliable and with Raffls & Laughtons speed should surprise on offense as well.

I think we can roll with a young D and allow them to grow on the big club. Offense is 4 lines deep and an overall much faster team. Strong down the middle and a more mobile defense and faster team will allow the Flyers to be much better off the rush, as a lot of times Grossman or L. Schenn kept us in our zone with a bad outlet pass or were beat to the puck on a dump in.

In the first round of the draft i'd move up and grab the best player available. But for the Flyers to be competitive, they must improve their team speed and rely on a couple ELC's. Mason was the real deal in the playoffs. Giroux and Voracek need to be split to carry the play on the 1st and 2nd lines, each have snipers for them to set up.
I also think Ghost and Hagg would learn a lot from Kimmo, them being around such a great player at practice everyday will allow them to learn a lot of good things from him as apposed to being with the phantoms. I think Kimmo and the vets will help accelerate their growth as a player.

If Hartnel is having a decent year but management wants to move on, he could be delt at the trade deadline and perhaps a trade for Ryan if he remains unsigned.

If Buffalo ends up with Ekblad in the draft, I was thinking maaaybe he'd be available. They would be loaded with young RHD's (Ekblad, Ristolainen, Pysyk).

Ha, yes I'm not in love with that one. We need to start a list of possible backup goalie candidates. Someone start a thread!
