We should just let the thread fade into obscurity like most Nashville threads....

Every trade thread turns into a thread where we get pissed on because we aren't willing to be a farm team for the "real" teams.

Murray was quoted as saying that if Nashville makes a strong offer, he'd ask Spezza if he was willing to amend his list

They seemed to be pretty healthy both times they played Nashville. 2-0 and 4-6. Marek Mazanec in net for both wins for Nashville and he earned his first NHL shutout.

Not even close. I'm not even sure that Ottawa could even put together a package big enough to entice the Preds. Poile said he is never trading Weber, so you'd really have to blow his socks off.

Why does everyone refer to Spezza as a rental? BM has publicly said that once the framework of a deal is in place the team that would acquire Spezza can speak to his agent about an extension. Any team negotiating with the Sens will get their chance to sign Spezza to an extension.

It's a win/win for everyone.

We don't want Weber, his salary could actually bail out the city of detroit if he donated it.

Yeah, Nashville didn't have any injuries of note...other than, you know, Pekka Rinne...for 51 games.

The funny thing is, Melnyk would veto that trade.

Yes, but we couldn't possibly let this thread die without bringing up Shea Weber. Come on man.
