Pleks was 47% on the FO, 3 shots and 1 assist.

Eller was 13% on the FO, 0 shots and 0 assists.

But Pleks was being bashed during the Empty Net play.

Would you rather have had Eller with his 13% from tonight instead?

Briere was at 50% but not great on D. DD was smoking tonight at 69% but again, do you want him playing Center on a defensive faceoff with less than a minute to go in the game?

Funny Enough Eller won his face off on his weak side but hit the linesman trying to put the puck back in the corner. The play went dead and MT puts out Pleks on his strong side who promptly loses the draw.
What i struggle with is why aren't they both out there in that situation like in Boston when Eller scored the empty netter? I really don't know why Gio is out there at all

He said he went with him because he's been a winner at every level and plays big when it counts. I personally would have went with Budaj. I guess that's why I'm not an NHL coach...

I agree with some of the caller comments on 690 -- we need more speed, it was painfully obvious this game, we got outskated at several critical junctures. Adding Bournival makes sense, perhaps even White. Who sits if it happens?

If you have them, post them up.

I am sure we got smoked on possession tonight.

But damn, those blocked shots (22 for the Habs vs 15 for the Rangers) helped to save us tonight. Shot blocks. That means you dont have possession, right?

Right now I'd rather see Desharnais out there than Plekanec in the overwhelming majority of situations, but for the 100000th time, they don't have the same role. Plekanec having a poor series is a problem that has nothing to do with Desharnais having a decent series.

Tokarski was great.
Pac - DD - Gallagher were good. Markov and Prust were good too.
Galchenyuk was average to me. His goal was quite lucky.
All the rest ranged from bad to average.

Galchenyuk went hard to the net quite a few times, good to see that it got rewarded.

Pretty much!

I had a feeling the Habs would win just by seeing the Rangers' body langauge. It's like they were so afraid to lose and they kept playing better but with zero result.

Tokarski was in their mind.

Coaching will lose us this series unless they wise up and stop being ****ing idiots. Our transition is an absolute joke. Watch the rangers move the puck up the ice. Then watch the habs D. The rangers don't have better puck movers than us. The problem is the tactics employed.

We got smoked tonight and dustin tokarski saved us and everyone knows it.

I guess, this is what happens with a healthy lineup. There will be some good ones that gets benched.

Prust is slow but MT won't sit him since Rangers are his former team and is clearly emotionally engaged in this series.

Vanek is slow but he is still elite and very dangerous.

So I'm guessing.. nobody.

Vanek with a lot of emotion in that gif.

Good to see that he is not mentally checked out. Probably has an injury that will be revealed after the season is done.
