Next year's backup

i think we are all in agreement that ray emery will hobble off into the sunset before next season...who the best choice to take his place?

Thomas Greiss for cheap wouldn't be a bad option

Hopefully someone that has good puckhandling skills. Mason shows how much it can help the defense.

Although I'm still for giving Heeter a shot, Greiss is my top FA option.

Montoya fits the bill perfectly. Offer him two years, 1 mill per yr.

Greiss or Montoya. Maybe Peters or Stalock, although I wouldn't feel too confident. Look to Europe otherwise. It's important they find the best backup they possibly can.

I wonder if the Canucks would be looking to bring in a more vet goaltender and willing to deal Markstrom for, say, Grossmann.

I'll join the Montoya train. Or Budaj if Montreal wants to buy him out to let Tokarski up. I can't see too many people trading for him at 1.4 million.

Weird fact of the day. The last goalie to net 3 SO's in a single playoff series...MFL.

He is probably the only starting goalie to get pulled TWICE in a Cup Final.

Short memory there, eh? I'll give you a hint. It happened after Leighton got pulled twice There's clearly a pattern there, though.

That, too, I guess, although in the case that followed they weren't really involved directly.
