Brad Richards

With the Rangers buying out Brad Richards how many of Sathers free agent signings have worked out for hi other than Gainey helping him unload Gomez contract. No wonder all these guys want to play there. now without any more buyouts how will cover his mistakes?

Wait until the next lockout which will offer compliance buyouts again.

We're not signing any more centers. Period. We can't even move Galchenyuk to center until Briere's contract expires, so if we add one more then Chucky will become a naturalized LW.

I'd take him if you could move Desharnais. He'd be great on the power play and would be feeding Pacioretty all day.

Richards
Plekanec
Eller

That's a nice looking group of centers.

Desharnais is cheaper and better than Richards.

I could see him going to ANA. This way they dont have to give up anyone. Lot cheaper then trading for Spezza, or Kesler.

Uh, Briere has nothing to do with Galchenyuk, and the OP didn't suggest Richards be signed.

Galchenyuk's future at centre is uncertain. Fishing for a high quality centre should still be a priority. Richards is not that guy, but it doesn't mean Bergevin should be satisfied with the current situation.

Pretty sure Vanek is the next big free-agent bust in NYR

Just as long as we don't sign him. The Gomez signing still haunts me.

Whole lot of centers out there right now.

Richards, Spezza, Stastny, Kesler, maybe Thornton & Lecavalier...

Add Pleks to that fold as a possible name too.

The only way I'd trade Pleks is if they overpay. If all these centres play musical chairs and then some team is left standing, MB can target them.

That's a myth. Nobody saw Vanek during that series.

Ron McLean can hang around with him full time now. Brad is his favorite player.

With many good centers are on the market, we'll have trouble trading one of our for a winger or a defenseman. It's kinda sucks. The timing isn't right.

I like how the OP has nothing to do with signing him and everyone comes in here without reading and says we don't need him.

Come on, at one point in NYC, it got so bad, he was playing on the fourth line.

To be fair he did have a bounce back year this season. Probably had alot to do with MSL and regardless I still wouldn't want him though. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll sign with the Leafs and hit rock bottom.
