And you know that Price will play the puck. The team and especially the D's had to learn again how to play hockey. But they are pros and have to do it. But it is tougher. So personnally, losing Price was a big thing...but mostly not about taking 1 save at a time or 1 goal at a time to explain it. But it's still not good enough to think that with him, we win it all or we look much much better than the Rangers. Rangers looked great in both games in LA. Pushed both of those games in OT. We already knew that it would be tough as hell against any of those 2 Western teams. But now that the Rangers might be about to be sweep, he would have done better? Well it's the easy part....the only way we'd do worst is to also be sweep but more easily. Everything else is doing better.
I'm sorry WS, but you think we were going to lose to TB with Bishop in, so obviously, I know where you will stand on this.

At the end of the day, Price is better than Tokarski, and by plenty, not little. Tokarski played better than what anybody could wish for, that doesn't mean Price couldn't have done a better job. It's not about hey, maybe he saves that particular shot, but maybe he doesn't save that one that Tokarski did.

It's more than that. It's maybe the NYR double guessing their shots, maybe they try to be too fancy instead of just trying to blast everything on an AHL goalie, maybe our break out improves due to Price's puck moving abilities, maybe our whole team strategy changes as we don't need to worry about collapsing in front of a kid and helps us generate more offense. Maybe Price delivers another strong speech that motivates the team as it did vs Boston.
As Lafleur Guy said, with Price in, the whole games would be different. It's not just about every single second in this series being the same but with Price in instead of Tokarski. Maybe Weise doesn't get injured. I can tell you Prust most likely doesn't get suspended.

At the end of the day, all you can say is that we would have a better player in. Would that have made a difference at the end of the day? I think so, because Price is a game changer, he is a difference maker. It doesn't mean we would have won, but the series would have unfolded in a different manner and I believe the games would have been tighter.

It's not even about each individual shot.

Price is on a completely different level than Tokarski as a goalie...bigger, better lateral mobility and eons ahead in puck handling.

Even if you say all the same goals would have gone in(I think Price makes a few more stops over those 5 1/2 games), just the confidence of having Price back there plus his puckhanling is a big edge, it helps guys like Gorges Emelin Markov and Subban avoid a lot of big hits retrieving dump ins.
