Well, if a Leaf fan really thinks that Kaberle is equal to Redden, some flamage is justified.

And my point is the Leafs fan would more than likely be serious. Part of the satirical value of his post is aimed at Leaf fans.

Nope, not even close. Of course Ottawa would have a major league Cap problem as well (ie Hossa got traded).

Sturm, Bernier, Erhoff to Atlanta for Kovalchuk and a 3rd

That has more of a chance of happening than Atlanta trading both of their franchise players to Ottawa.

first of all kovalchuk may want to play with heatley but what makes you think the sens would want him. sure he's an amazing player but for what atlanta would command i dont think he's worth it (becuase they would surely ask for more than redden), and secondly would the sens be able to afford it? anyway this proposal is just stupid and would never happen kovalchuk isnt coming to ottawa unless he comes as an unrestricted free agent which is also totally unlikely because there's no way the sens can afford it.

You know how freaky that is? I just made a thread with a proposal very similar to that, without reading what you posted first.

It'd take a lot more than Redden to get Kovalchuk.

"Also I see Luango to Ottawa for Kaigorodov, Eaves and the first rounder."

If by "Luango", you meant Luongo...
then you sir are selling VCR's at 4 in the morning to support your crack habit.

Now Atlanta fans will have to deal with all these ridiculous Kovalchuk trade proposals just like we've had to put up with the horrible Luongo proposals.

Terrible proposal. Some counter offers were just as bad though.

I'm curious, why is everyone calling Redden overrated? I have always thought of him as a one of the best defenseman in the NHL.

And I' m not a sens fan

He wouldn't fit in, or isn't really needed. I wouldn't want him, better players to bring in if your loosing a quality player in the deal.

Of course, there are multiple Sens fans in this thread (not you) making it sound like Redden for Kovalchuk is a bad deal for Ottawa and that they could get someone better, which is fairly laughable.

You couldn't be more right about Wade Redden. That bum is overrated.

Hockey Canada has once again picked players because of media hype. There's no other way to explain Redden's invitation to play for Canada at the WC's this year, or his winning the Top Defenseman Award at that same tournament, nor for his invite to the pre-Olympic camp in Kelowna recently. Naturally, his league-leading goal total for defensemen in '03/'04 was nothing more than referee favouritism.

You have settled so many arguments with this piece of literary genius. When will Senators fans learn?

and they're responding to the Redden/Havlat/Spezza counter-proposal... frankly I wouldn't do that one either. Besides, are we going to have to add smilies after every one of our posts?

how about that Leafs fan implying that Kaberle is equivalent to Redden????

As talented as Kovalchuk is, the Sens don't NEED him. It would cost way too much and it would gut the talent level on the team with what the Sens would have to send back to Atlanta.

That being said, Redden for Kovalchuk is a brutal proposal. And yes, Kovalchuk won't be traded.
