I'm a little nervous with shouldering huge defensive responsibilities with a rookie again. I know Couturier is there in case Laughton can't take the load, but I'd rather start Laughton in the AHL, and get two actual wingers to play with Hall.

It's not shouldering huge defensive responsibilities onto Laughton, though.

With Couturier, we shoved him all the D zone starts and tough match ups right off the bat. I'm just saying, give Laughton and the fourth line the D zone starts, not the match ups. Give him the same minutes that players like Kruger and Ben Smith get for Chicago.

Basically, we're not asking him to be our shutdown guy (like we did with Couturier). We're just asking him to be a reliable defensive presence so we can cut some of Couturier's D zone starts and give minimal amounts to Giroux. That right there will have a massive positive impact on both C and G.

Don't quite get the emphasis on zone starts in regards to offensive production as a whole. Yes offensive zone starts can lead to more goals, I get that... but few face-offs are clean and lead to instant possession. I like him in the D zone b.c his face-off skills are some of the best on the team, but on the same token if he's our best defensive forward we shouldn't be hemmed in the D zone with him out there. There's lots of potential for rushes up ice - odd man rushes using his hockey IQ to disrupt passes - which can lead to lots of offense much like we watched Richards provide for years here. I think Giroux excels at this as well, specifically with his speed matched with Jake V. Problem is the kid skates with cement stuck in his boots.

In a single instance, you're right, but over time, statistically, if you're deployed in the D zone as much as Couturier is, it does make a significant difference.

Look up the guys leading the league in D zone start %. Not many of them put up offensive numbers.

gotcha, overtime it does have an influence on it, same for him tying up his man and having his teammates loose the puck after he makes a play at the face off dot... not his fault. I guess my main beef of an observation during the season was that most typical shifts go through both zones and i'd like to see him be more assertive in transition. He makes a lot of safe plays near his own blue line which is why the coaches trust him as well.

I honestly don't care who wins the cup so I'm rooting for a quick series here either way. I want the offseason to start, I'm done with the playoffs.

My interest level just slowly tanks as the rounds go on & the Flyers aren't involved. I don't think I even watched a full game of last years cup.

I've been thinking the same thing since the Flyers were eliminated. I have a hard time watching if I have literally zero rooting interest in either team. The offseason and draft are going to be exciting.

Keep showing replays of Doughty getting buttended and say that he wasn't and he was just trying to get a call. No mention of Brassard.

Anyway, how is Albert allowed to do national Rangers games? Especially the damn SCF.

Emerick had a death in the family or he'd be calling the game.

Alberts isn't that bad, especially compared to Eddie O. when he's calling a Hawks game and blowing loads every two seconds.

I just don't think they should be allowed to announce their own teams games on National television. It's impossible to stay partial.
