Jr needs to go as well, he makes milbury look like a genius.

Fun first game; the Rangers got away with a lot of clutch and grab early, but the Kings adjusted over the course of the game.

The Rangers needed that one given the slow start from LA. I think this will be a short series.

NBC's ratings have been going up and setting records on NBCSN. They don't need to change anything.

If you're getting rid of everybody though, not sure why you'd keep Engblom. All the guy does is talk about momentum.

I just wish NBC had Thorne and Clement. It might be the nostalgia factor, but damn do I miss hearing those guys work a game together.

Stralman was hard on the pick and physical last night. He PKs as well which is always something nice to add to your defense. He can move the puck and he isn't slow like Grossman or Scheen. If he isn't asking for the world I would kick the tires on him.

That was a brutal dive, beyond Carcillo levels even and you can tell how pissed off Richie was by it. The more I see of Brassard the less I like him.

The embellishment is the reason I cant stand the current Rangers. From our series to now, then flicking their heads back, flying the ice and getting penalties for embellishment is crazy. Havent seen it this bad in a long time.

Brassard ought to get a nomination for best supporting actor for that embellishment act.

Alain Vigneault is a smart coach. Assuming he does encourage his players to dive, he must know how reluctant the NHL is to call actual embellishment penalties. Even when they do, they usually take someone from the other team, and then it's just 4 on 4. I'm willing to be that, if somebody ran the numbers, players that have been encouraged to dive help the team more than hurt them on like, a 10 to 1 ratio. And I think it's the NHLs fault. They need to start calling guys for this.

How about an award for dive of the year in an attempt to publicly shame players?

probably can count the amount of times they have just sent off the diver on one hand. maybe 2. Think they sent off Landeskog in round 1 for diving and didn't take anyone else. I agree it is getting out of hand.

Eklund needs to stop with some of his stupid guess work sometimes. I have seen him hit on some things and then he just absolutely makes other **** up.

On Niskanen...

The Penguins are without a GM, still but I am told that they have told Niskanen they really want him back and expect to sign him to an extension. The Red Wings, Capitals and Oilers also have interest in Niskanen...but as of now I am told the Penguins will get this done..
This goes completely goes against this.....

Matt Niskanen will meet with his agent, Neil Sheehy, next week to go over their free agent strategy. A source believes that Niskanen could be interested in the Red Wings, and vise versa. Niskanen is expected to get multiple offers at over $5 million, maybe pushing over $6 million. His first choice would be to re-sign with the Penguins, but the Wings could be high up his list. Before he was fired, Ray Shero had been having contract talks with Niskanen’s camp. It’s not known if an official offer was made, but it was believed to be under $3.75 million on a long-term deal, which wasn’t close.
How bad do they want him back when Shero offered him 3.75 a year on a longer term deal? Who wants him back there also? Super Mario? I understand they still have management positions that are in line but where did that information come from? The new GM has the biggest say and he isn't in office yet.
