Looks like Matt Frattin will not receive a contract offer from Columbus, wonder who is going to take a shot on the kid.

He would probably do well in a place like EDM, no structure/system to worry about.

I think the obvious move for Frattin would be to go back to TOR where he had some success.

I think Frattin will end up overseas. He will get more guaranteed money and the style of play suits him better.

He isn't exactly a kid, he is 26 and has not established himself as an NHL player.

Ottawa Senators captain Jason Spezza has asked to be traded, general manager Bryan Murray told reporters in New York on Wednesday.

Murray said Spezza has "requested we give him a chance to go elsewhere." The GM said a few teams have shown serious interest, but the Senators' preference is to "send him somewhere we don't have to play him every night," according to Elliotte Friedman of "Hockey Night in Canada."

Shipping out west may rule out the Leafs, which would have been a good fit, they need a center
West? Blues, Preds, Ducks, Hawks
Watch Dallas land him, Seguin and Spezza as your 1, 2 C ain't bad.

Need to add the Sharks to that list.

Nah, I think he stays in Colorado. He loves it there and they've become relevant. From this point I only see them adding pieces.

I simply don't see them adding any centers because they have Teravainen and they can't afford it.

Dreger said that Vincent Lecavalier is in play, but nobody has talked to Vinni yet.

Never change, Philadelphia.

Speaking of Philadelphia, they signed an older forward prospect named Pierre-Edouard Bellemare from Skelleftea. I'd be curious if that was somebody Hextall came across while following up on Moller/Holloway who were on the same team over the last three seasons.

They can't afford him or his 7 mil or north he's asking for.
As it is, they will have to shed salary They have like 4 mill under the CAP several contracts this year and a bunch next year.

A 29year old RW to fill the holes Homer left in the thin farm system. Hexy has his work cut out for him n a lot of areas.

I agree with that whole heartedly. His dumb penalties and turnovers made me cringe every time he got on the ice.

Selanne though, my heart still aches. There's a gap that won't be filled for some time now.

Going to miss his smile and class, great Man. Tough loss for Hockey. You know he never turned down an autograph. He always signed my stuff I put in front of him.

Could Brad Marchand be on the move?

Jimmy Murphy, formerly of ESPNBoston.com, reported the Bruins and Sharks have talked about a deal that would send Brad Marchand to San Jose and Patrick Marleau to Boston.

On Sports Tonight, Michael Felger and Bob Neumeier discussed the rumor.

"When you think about what San Jose has done recently," said Neumeier. "Very good regular seasons, zip in the playoffs. They need a spark. Marchand may need a new address."

"Marleau is much older," said Felger. "I think the Bruins are in a championship window, so go out and get championships."
I think I'm gonna puke.

It would be perfect if the Sharks get BM and he misses all those open nets for them in the Playoffs.

I can't hate him due to his expert trolling of the Canucks a few years back.

I thought Marleau had a no-trade clause?
