There will be seven (at least) new GMs next year... Most ever?

Vancouver, Philadelphia, Washington, Calgary, Carolina, Pittsburgh and Buffalo will have new faces in the GM role next season.

The coaching carousel is one thing but has there ever been as much turnover in the GM role in one off-season?

Start of 2006-07 saw 6 new GM's in place:

Dean Lombardi, Peter Chiarelli, Ray Shero, Garth Snow, François Giguere and Jacques Martin.

Throw in Clarke getting fired a handful of games in and Holmgren taking over, you have 7.

When you factor in GM switches in the last month of the season and off season--5 to 7 is about average

You can actually include Neil Smith in there too. He resigned after the draft when he realized how much of a joke the way the team was being ran above him, hence Snow.
