So, I'm sitting here wondering....

1. I hope RR got an extended warranty with the new server. That way you can have a Tech come to where the server is at and fix it on-site (hindsight is always 20/20).

2. Was hoping that he saved the old server just in case of situations like this (again, hindsight....).

3. If a train with food, clothes, and medicine for the victims of Katrina is traveling at 50 miles an hour and it takes 12 hours to get to New Orleans from Washington, DC how long will it take to get there?

Answer: 5 days.

Let's throw some gasoline on the fire.

If the part for the server is coming from Dell (I think it was a Dell server LGK got) a lot of Dell's parts are routed through the UPS distribution center in Nashville, TN (some are shipped out of Austin, TX).

A Dell PC that I just bought has been sitting in the UPS distribution center in Nashville since August 30.

Imagine all the shipments with destinintions in the affected disaster areas. UPS in that area is overloaded with undeliverable shipments and the packages are prolly backed up and it's chaos.
