Yes, it would either require a gyro function or two separate chips in the puck with a high precision of measurement.

Doesn't look too good for Jozy. Still hoping for the best though.

@SportsCenter: Jurgen Klinsmann is "full of hope" that Jozy Altidore will return for #USMNT during World Cup.

That doesn't fill me full of hope that it will actually happen.

I'm still doubtful too, but it's better than him being ruled out already.

Is there any reason why we haven't heard anything definitive about Jozy's hammy? I mean I know it's a "strain," but is it severe? No one has said anything other than Klinsmann's "I'm hopeful" comment.

At least we know it's a hamstring and not the dreaded "lower body injury"!

I don't know too much about football but is the drop off from Altidore to Johannsson really that big? Didn't Jozy have a **** year in the premier league? A lot of people here in England seem to think we'll be just as good without him.

Edit - nvm, looks like this was answered on the last page. I still think we'll be alright either way

The overall skill level is comparable between the two, but they play different styles and Altidore is probably a much better complement to Dempsey than Johannsonn. Jozy is tough, physical, and a handful when he's on the ball. He can play with his back to goal and make things happen that way. That's not really Johansson's game, and it's a big question as to whether he'll be able to create enough in an offense that's catered towards creating opportunities for Dempsey. Johannsson is also not as good in the air as Jozy, whih will be problematic as the US will need to be good on set pieces in their remaining games if they want to do any damage.

It's a matter of style and experience. Jozy has been playing with these guys for 4 years on the national team. AJ just joined the nats like 7 months ago.

Jozy dominated the dutch league even more than AJ did while he was there.

Jozy fills more of a need for the true #9 striker, because he can hold up the play. AJ is more of a jitterbug who likes to dribble at the edge of the box like Dempsey.

USA need Altidore's size up front.

The other concern is just a matter of depth. If Jozy is on the shelf for the remainder of the tournament, the only other true forward we have is Wondo. I really would have rather left one of Davis/Diskerud or Chandler/Yedlen back at home, and brought Eddie Johnson or Landon. I understand the desire to get younger, but we're perilously thin up front.

I think Cahill is the first RBNY player to score 2 in a world cup.

Agreed. I was thinking the same thing this morning.

Also, I don't understand Jurgen's reluctance to use Wondo. He is so biased against MLS it's pathetic. Wondo can score. It's what he does. Aron looked awful. I've been hearing they'll go with Dempsey up front in a "False 9" if Jozy can't go. I'd really just prefer to try Wondo up there.

That he is.

And it's odd because his best two players play in MLS.

If Zusi played for Nantes and Bedoya played in MLS< you can bet it'd be Zusi starting.
