One of the reasons to dial in the prospect pages at HF is Renegade Stylings posts and opinions. So - bump a legit mock.

I'd hope the Habs would pass on Goldobin to take Schmaltz.

The Ducks are actually pretty loaded with young D-men, they need a forward more.

Big fan of all the prospect work you do RS, but I don't see the Ducks taking Fleury tbh, especially considering he is another LHD. They already have Fowler, Lindholm and Theodore as LHDs but are pretty thin at RD. I think if they have both picks they take a forward at 10 and a D at 24, possibly McKeown if he's there, but that's just me. Otherwise, great job and thanks for posting it!

Fair enough. I understand it's not perfect and appreciate the feedback.

I whipped it up quickly one afternoon and have since changed my mind on a few things. Might do a version 2.0!

Blues should go best player available, but doubt they go D with so many needs upfront and still such talent on the board (Ho Sang and Pastrnak).

Excellent mock.

As a Leafs fan, I really don't want us to take a chance on Ritchie... but I do think he'll be pulling on a blue and white jersey if he's there at 8.

Great mock, as expected RS. Agree on Demko going to the Blackhawks, even though I doubt its a popular opinion.

Montreal goes looking for an offensive prospect late in the first round and find it with Russian Nikolai Goldobin. The 5'11 winger put up an impressive 94 points in 67 games in his second OHL season in 2013-14. Scouts note some inconsistency from him throughout the season, but has also proven he can elevate his game when needed, especially when insulated with talented players around him.

If not Goldobin: Brendan Lemieux
Great mock draft, it looks a lot like mine. But there is a little thing about my favorite team, Montréal. The more important asset according to the Habs management is character. If you look the past 1st round pick: Jarred Tinordi, Michael McCarron, Nathan Beaulieu, Alex Galchenyuk, they have very good compete level. Even in the late rounds, if you look the smallish players, they are hard workers (Gabriel Dumont, Sven Andrighetto, Brendan Gallagher, etc.). This is why, if the Habs draft a small or unphysical player, it will be someone with a high compete level.

Grant McCagg is very credible and he is connected with Habs scouts. He thinks that Montréal will draft one of the following players: Travis Sanheim, Jack Dougherty, Nikita Scherbak, Dominik Masin or Sonny Milano. I'm fine with those five players. With your mock draft, I think that Le Canadien takes Jack Dougherty. They need a right-handed d-man with top-4 potential, now and in the future. Montréal also need power-forwards (Brendan Lemieux is an interesting name) and potential top-line wingers (Sonny Milano, but likely will be drafted earlier... maybe Goldobin but like I said, I think it's very unlikely) in their prospects pool. In my hope list there are Ivan Barbashev, Nikita Scherbak and Sonny Milano. But it's likely wishful thinking.

I don't think San Jose will take a D. They need a D on their roster right now, but they won't in a few years.
