Pausing is probably the best idea.

Whatever you guys think is best, I'll offer Nieto back to Modo if we keep the players and I can get a pick before the reset to make up for it. I'd prefer to hold onto Faulk but I think we can work it out.

I'm not entirely thrilled with the concept of losing a 4th round pick for an extra pick in the 12th round.

If most people agree with the idea that it was the team's responsibility to make sure your players were listed, then we will reset the draft to Vancouver's pick in this current round and the teams that drafted the unlisted prospects this year will get to keep them.

You won't have to make that offer to Bingo if you don't want.

I am trying to decide what I want to do.

Permanently? If so then the teams that lose their prospects should get compensated, maybe in next year's entry draft or something. Yeah, it's their responsibility to make sure their prospects were listed, but they shouldn't outright lose their prospects.

We were discussing compensation earlier. Hopefully we'll have the full decision soon.

Here is what I think: people are responsible for not having their prospects properly listed. TL gets to keep Trouba, SS gets to keep Coyle, Bingo gets to keep Smith, HC gets to keep Nieto and Faulk. Hope there aren't any others, but now would be a good time to point that out.

Compensation would be based on where those prospects were drafted originally in the entry/prospect drafts in our league. So Bingo would get a comp pick at the end of the 1st round of the entry draft next year for Trouba, as would TL for Smith. RR would get a comp pick at the end of the 2nd round for Coyle. Modo and TP would get picks at the end of the 4th round for Nieto and Faulk.

Would like to hear opinions, especially from those particularly involved. I think it is close to as fair as we're going to get.

Also: none of Trouba/Smith/Coyle/Nieto/Faulk would be automatically protected anymore.

Way to go commissioners. I think that's appropriate.

Great solution. I think it is more than fair.

I'd be more than willing to allow RR to have Coyle back.

I think in this case, you should simply trade the prospect for the comp. pick. Makes it easier for everyone to figure out.

I'm fully on board with the idea IR4 proposed. Seems fair enough.

So I'm good to start drafting again? And I've got Smith back, which means the player I picked to replace Smith is back in the draft correct?

I don't know if we're going to do a comp pick but might have to do a trade itself with the other team, since technically the pick did exist in the draft. I mean i'd take Modo's pick in this round because it will basically be the same thing as a a comp. pick but i'll leave that up to conversation.

Sorry again for all this mess.

RR would have to trade for him like any other player, but yes, in this situation I'm fine with the comp picks being traded if that's what they agree upon. Keep in mind, again, that these players will no longer be considered prospects.

I had an eye on him since the start of the draft hoping no one would have noticed/remembered the post-season he had. My jimmies are slightly rustled.
