The top pairing D is going to have to developed from within whether it be Ekblad, Nurse, Klefbom or Marincin. In the meantime, its MacT's job to ease their transition by adding solid top 4 vets. I think Boychuk would be a great addition. Maybe even overpay a bit for a Stralman or Niskanen. If that doesn't work, Derek Morris for a couple of years could help. There are options.
The one option that should be ruled out is keeping the D as is and let them learn on their own.

I agree but at least 25 NHL teams need d-men... The chances of signing one without a drastic overpay are very, very slim.

Boychuk and Morris are both Edmonton guys so that at least helps the odds. Gotta try at least.

The biggest failure of the team which you are indirectly saying this team has never had transitional players to help there young core. I mean horcoff to mentor Hall cmon. Crosby had guys like Roberts (same as stamko's) Mario for insight/guidance, brought in guys like Guerin, stamkos had lecavlier/st.lous. Look at hall/tavares have to learn alot on there own.

Not disagreeing, I just don't think anyone impactful is going to come here.

Or come here and play well.

Unfortunately for us, the Kings are going to be very good for a very long time.
Kings in 2012 had a much easier road. Vancouver was their only real test and it came in the first round. They rolled through the playoffs after that and looked dominant, were great defensively etc., but this Kings team is far superior IMO. Game breaking talent that has a couple more years of experience and a super swagger about them. They simply do not give a **** and have beaten 3 other legit Stanley Cup contenders in gruelling series. Their B or C games are better than a Rangers A game. It's not even close as far as I'm concerned.

I've figure out why Rick Nash avoids being called what he is, ordinary and overrated.

Taylor Hall IS the player people THINK Rick Nash is.

The Kings are going to win their second Cup in 3 years tonight and we're promoting people.

Even the most positive Oil fan can't tell me they're making things better by not holding those responsible accountable. This was easily their most disappointing season and I'm not sure a single person lost their job because of it.

lolwut. Hagelin got away with the biggest make-up non-call on that puck battle.

That would have been an Interference call in 1995.

I really don't care, you're really hung up on this. It's because you assume firing someone will fix it, when really you only think it will make you feel better.

Again, if this is your hang up, there is a team in the final who would welcome fans.

This is weird, because I'm seeing Rangers jerseys on the ice, and that should be enough to indicate that they are actually out there, but I still don't see anyone playing. Weird, indeed.

Will you stop telling other people to either stop being fans or to switch to other teams. It's rude and outright really ****** to say. You aren't better than anyone else, stop stop acting like it.

Terrible icing call.

EDIT:

Also, Hagelin is just a beast. That guy seems to be skating on a full tank at all times.

Doing something is better than doing nothing. The Oilers have this insane loyalty to people that tends to last far too long. Tambellini should've been fired long before the 2013 season but they held onto him for reasons that nobody can understand. Lowe still remains despite the last 5 years being among the worst in league history.

Do I think simply firing Lowe (or anyone) will fix the Oilers? No. But continuing to do what they have been doing for 8 freaking years sure as hell isn't working. Does anyone in the organization right now feel like their seat is warm coming off the most disappointing season in franchise history (which is saying a lot given the past 8 years)? Doesn't seem like it.

A team that so desperately needs experience continues to rely on rookies, on and off ice. It's mind boggling how they forgo the interview process and just pick whoever is their best friend. I like MacT and think he could be a decent GM but this team needs a guy who knows what he's doing. We're all grateful that Clarkson passed on us but that bullet won't always be dodged.

All of these bandwagoners screaming "WE WANT THE CUP!"

This has to be the most horribly reffed and boring Finals in quite some time.

Overpaid, underwhelming waste of roster space.

You could fit a few Rangers players in these categories. *Cough* St. Louis *Cough* Rick Nash *Cough*

This overtime has been quite good, surprised at how many mistakes we're seeing.

I really want to watch the Eskimos game, but how can I? This is insanely exciting, and one sided.
