How is it a lie? The Chicken Noodle Network is disingenuously and arbitrarily discounting a whole bunch of school shootings because the shooters aren't white suburban kids, as if that makes a goddamn bit of difference.

The better question is why you consider one type of murder perpetrated on schoolchildren to be less relevant than another type of murder perpetrated on schoolchildren.

No, they are discrediting things that shouldn't even be on there, one of the ones listed in NC didn't even happen on a campus.

Also do you consider college kids to be schoolchildren? Most would be over the age 18 which qualifies them to be dropped into combat overseas.

So get over the Everytown map that is full of errors and lies.

Ah, okay, that's fine then. College kids getting murdered is okay.

What's the friggin' difference? Why do the pro-gun people insist on constantly demonstrating their lack of empathy over people killed in shootings? I guess the answer is obvious. If they had any empathy they wouldn't be gun zealots in the first place.

Last I checked, a college campus was still a school. So, while the people killed there aren't kids, it's still a pretty horrible thing to have a young person's life cut short because some pissed off person with a gun decided to share their pain.

So, no, saying "Pish posh, some of those were on COLLEGE campuses" doesn't make much of a difference. Nor should it to a rational mind.

Why doesn't anyone ever reference Kent State when it comes to college shootings?

Because the National Guard were the ones who shot the students, so that makes it ok...apparently.

Because that was over 40 years ago? Nobody refences I Don't Like Mondays either, even though that fits the profile.

CSNY referenced it.

Also it happened a pretty long time ago MM, so why would we be referencing it in relation to what is happening now?

No, because it is also a different concern which also gets a lot of discussion. Police shootings and other government shootings have all had enormous reactions over the years. See: LA Riots. Oakland Riots, Cincinnati Riots, etc., etc.

The latest Facebook wisdom going around

Quote:
So on Tuesday Obama suggests that we should follow the path of Australia and ban ALL semi-automatic and even some pump action firearms.......what was that I've been hearing "Nobody wants to take away your guns!!"

Oh yeah, Australia does have a DRASTIC reduction in gun related crimes now. However, their *****, HOME INVASIONS, ASSAULTS, and STABBINGS have almost TRIPPLED since they implemented gun confiscation. I guess that doesn't matter though, as long as "gun" violence is down.
THEY'VE TRIPPLED!

In other words, when it comes to pushing Gun-Control err Anti-Gun Propaganda, only certain events are used and only when children are involved.
