So excited...Tomorrow will be the first day of the tourney that I get to bunker down and watch all day. Stupid destination wedding.

Klinsmann should just ****.

Quote:
Jurgen Klinsmann had the gall to say this to the New York Times about the United States' chances of winning the World Cup: "We cannot win this World Cup because we are not at that level yet. For us, we have to play the game of our lives seven times to win the tournament. Realistically, it is not possible."
True but WTF... seriously.

No reason for a coach to give his players an excuse going in.

I don't know, maybe he is using as some type of motivation tool. Either way it doesn't really matter; it will take a miracle for the squad to make it out of this group.

We all know it's true, but the coach's job is to make it not true.

On principle it is probably not the best thing to say, but as I said they have no chance anyway.

Miracle on grass. Who knows. Thats Klinsmans job. Maybe they should make him watch a Herb Brooks video.

Germans tend to be so pragmatic.

It would certainly rank up there as one of the biggest upsets of all time.

Maybe he's a Darryl Sutter passive aggressive type of coach.

Dont think Sutter would say that. Doesnt say much of anything really. Two consecutive words is a lot from him.

Usually only watch the women play, but I will be tuning in for the men's game tonight. They better win!

Entertaining start to the Germany-Portugal tilt.

Germans 1-0 on a PK.

Yeah, this could easily end up being 6-0 for the Germans. Great score for the US thus far. They really need to come to play against Ghana.

With Portugal being a man down I am guessing that 6-0 is not that unreasonable unless Germany takes their foot off the gas.

How do the FIFA tiebreakers work for advancing beyond the group stage? I forget.
