Moen still upset at Habs loss

This was in a Saskatchewan paper today. Not very newsworthy...just a local reporter talking to the local NHLer, but thought I'd pass it on anyway.

Didn't read that there at all - just as we have heard, a real team player.

I hope he is ok, he was a great depth player for us during the regular season.

Even though, we've got close to 10 mil on fourth line duties so somebody has to go.

Nice article sounds like a great team first guy and that is a good thing.

"I am back to 100 percent now and my focus is to get back to training soon and try and limit my chances of getting hurt next year by training hard and all that kind of stuff.”

So he won't fight?

I hope not. Moen had the most hilarious habit of only fighting when we had just gone up 2-1, then losing the fight, possibly getting a concussion.

Moen is a defensive forward, he should be used that way.

Who cares if he fights? Fighting has left the game in the last two seasons if you guys haven't been watching. The only team that "fights" that made the playoffs are Boston and they're letting their main fighter walk because he can't play hockey anymore. All the teams that loaded up on toughness trying to follow the Boston formula missed the playoffs. Ottawa, Toronto, Buffalo, Calgary, Vancouver, etc.

Totally agree. The sooner fighting is eliminated the better. Wanna shake up your team? Score a ****in' goal.

I'm just worried for his safety anymore when he fights. He doesn't seem to be into it in a physical sense, he just does it out of "duty", but the guys he's going against may not be on quite the same page.

Anyway, he's a solid north-south guy and PKer, useful depth to have. Was a time he was viewed as more of an "elite" bottom-line guy, as opposed to a more generic one like he is now, which is why his salary is where it is. But he seems like such a solid character and the premium they pay on his salary is hopefully going to be offset by a few other savings here and there on other deals (Weise and Tokarski, maybe for example).
