Are Habs ruining Galchenyuk?

So we drafted him to be our future number one center. Big forward with skill and speed and he has never played it consistently. I think that he needs to play center this coming up year because if not, he will never be able to pan out.

What do you guys think?

Dude, chill a little. He's only 20yrs old and MT is giving him more and more responsibilities.

This should get closed.

It really looked like he'd break out this season. A month or two in he was our best forward on most nights and was only behind Subban and Markov for points. Breaking up his line and limiting his ES / PP minutes really broke his stride. It seemed to lower his confidence as well.

I don't think it's possible to ruin him though. His skill, hockey sense, size, and determination to be the best will eventually force management to use him as our franchise forward. He is after all only 20 years old.

When he played in the playoffs he was the teams best forward. He just oozes skill. People tend to forget that he is only 20.

Seriously! Exactly my thoughts. The guys is averaging .50pts per game but people are expecting him to produce at 1pt per game. On top of that, he plays like 13-14mins per game most of the time lol

Are the habs ruining Galchenyuk or have the oilers ruined Gangne, Hall, RNH and Yakupov?

I like our approach a hell of a lot more than theirs.

Right now no, but if we see another year of what we've seen, yes.

It will be his 3rd year in the NHL, he should explode and be ready to dominate.

The argument is not against Galchenyuk himself, it's against his usage.

We know he can be better (Supported by your 13-14 minutes only) it's MT who's the dumb****.

Can't say I didn't see this thread coming. If we go by this board, I'm actually shocked that we have any players on the big team as we've probably ruined ALL of them.

The veteran coach doesn't agree with a bunch of basement dwelling, cheetos munching know-it-alls, there for he's a "dumb****". nice.

Of course not, he still only 20 yr old, his progression has been decent/good but we have to use him at center and it needs to start asap.

You mean like how the Bruins 'ruined' Tyler Seguin by putting him on the wing?

Depends what happens this year. I think he should play center with Gallagher on his wing, and then acquire a 20 goal scoring winger to play on his other side. The only way he'll develop is through practice and by learning the trade via action.

That appeal to authority though. Always a good last resort argument.

They haven't ruined him but it seems to me this coach has slowed the progress of a few players on this team. Don't know why you would want to slow down progress but MT is doing exactly that.

His first year was on a shortened season, and his second was cut short due to injuries. Tough to say where he stands but he definitely has the skill.

Yup. He's ruined. Kaputs. Damaged goods.

Hey is there a third pairing defenceman under the age of 24 that people are talking about? Montreal should trade Galchenbust for him.
