Yet resorting to name calling is acceptable to you?

Coaches are hired on merit. It is one thing to disagree with their moves but calling them names is juvenile and reflects poorly on the poster.

IMO, MT has misused Galchenyuk NOT because he doesn't play center but rather because guys like Bourque play over him in regular season.

I'd rather he play 16-17 min as a winger than 12 as a center.

He has to play, that's all it is at this point for me. Center or wing, he needs game experience.

It's a acceptable argument when the authority in question has authority in the discussed topic, like a NHL coach about coaching NHL players.

The appeal to authority is fallacious when there's no relation between the authority vs the topic.

It might be juvenile. I agree.

But this coach wasn't hired on merit. What "merit" does he have ? He's coaching the most storied franchise in hockey and one of the biggest in sports worldwide, yet he has never done anything and he's known for being a nutcracko. He's here because he's friend with someone.

I some ways you'd be right. But here, the poster says the said authority has all the right answers. Is it the same for PM Harper ? If he's there, he must be right, no ?

Some teams are forced to play their top pick big minutes right away because they have nobody else, or they need to put people in the seats. we are not that team. Discussion over.

TBH, I have no problem with the way MT handled Chuckie so far. I'm sure that next year he'll have more and more responsibilities and that he'll constantly play in our Top 6 and PP. There's no point in rushing is development

I'm somewhat curious to know who your ideal coach would be for this team?

Well he has many years of NHL head coaching experience, along with being a career coach at several levels and a player in the NHL before that. What does 'merit' mean to you?

What do you mean by "he has never done anything?" If coaches were only hired if they won a stanley cup or Jack Adams trophy, the list of potential candidates would be blank.

Galchenyuk has already been ruined. I propose we trade him for a 2nd round pick in 2015. To Anaheim obviously.

Googled Mr. Glass from unbreakable to insert a pic from work. Do not do that and click images, NSFW!

This deal is stupid.... Anaheim would never do that. Send him back to junior and let his contract expire. Trade him for a 7th. who cares.

Let's see- has played over 100 NHL games, averaged 2-3 line minutes, plays the PP. Plays late in games defending leads....Habs are developing him just fine.
My concern is his average skating. To become top tier he has to improve his quickness, first step acceleration, etc.

An average of 12:20 ES ToI/game is roughly equal to 2nd line minutes to you?

It's gotta be conditional 2nd or no deal.

Conditional on him being able to dislodge Mathieu Perreault from his exploitation center position.
