I haven't really been active as of late either, due to the headaches that the draft threads caused before the draft but anyways

I'll probably try to watch some games during the weekends we get out but I'll miss all weekday games.
Anyways,

Go Panthers!
It's a cool experience as long as you don't take it too seriously.

Is there something more I should know?
Yes, because Viasat owns the rights in Nordic countries.

But you have to buy that whole package thing that has movies and ****, can't buy sports/NHL seperately.

My story of being a Panthers fan isn't particularly long. I liked to play with the Panthers in GM modes of old NHL games, but didn't really have a favorite team back then. But when they drafted Barkov, who was my favorite player outside of my favorite team (HPK ) in the SM-liiga, it was a natural choice to finally pick my team to be the Panthers. After not seeing nearly enough games last season, I've decided that the upcoming season I'll subscribe to Viaplay and watch every single game. So yeah, very much looking forward to the season already.

Not sure whether this was the right place to do this but nevertheless. Just thought it'd be nice to say hello. Expect to see my posts around here every once in a while (gotta admit I'm a pretty lazy poster and more of a follower-type, but still ).

Welcome!

Welcome on board SS Failship. Watch your step. Remember as a Finnish Panther fan you must be this drunk to be able to tolerate the games

Was watching Finnish baseball today and one of the players seemed really familiar, like I had seen him before in person somewhere. Couldn't pinpoint the face at that time, but his team came to bat soon and he had his back turned towards the camera, so I got to see the name. Seemed even more familiar, still couldn't figure out where I had seen him or heard the name. Then he took his helmet off after he was done batting and revealed a very army esque looking short hair.

After a quick google check; yup, that guy was one of my unit's staff sergeants at the time when I served. Small world.

How can I get a job designing jerseys? Seems like it's the easiest job in the world when the ugliest crap always gets approved.

I don't post that often but I have checked the boards a lot these years
It's either 6 months, 9 months or 12 months, depending on what you do in the army.
I'm trying to get to the officer course, in wich case I'll be in the army for 347 days. (almost 12 months)

Technically, you're currently a 347 man until ordered otherwise. You can check it from the daily log book thing once you get your first apu-pässi gig.

The first two weeks are more of getting used to the 6-22 rhythm and stuff, then the **** hits the fan.

I have no idea if this is the right place to post this, but here is a little funny skit with Sean Bergenheim playing vs a finnish rapper and Seans brother in goal Dean. The other guy used to play hockey(I think in Jokerit organisation?) until his teens

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-359CD-_aRA

I love the between his legs move

I think the Wild board has more, I can only come up with 4 active members (+ some that have moved to Florida) around here. The rest is more of people that are just interested in Barkov.

Vaasa, eh. Sport fan?

Well, I have lived in Vaasa for 8 years now. I was born in Espoo so I think I am more Blues fan than Sport fan. I haven't watch any Sport games here. Maybe I go watch some Liiga games.

And yeah, more finnish players -> more Finnish fans.

My godparents live there and I used to see a few games per year, not that often anymore these days. Playoffs are fun in that arena.
