Coburn, Couturier, 48th overall

O'Reilly, Heard, 23rd overall

Flyers would have to be convinced Gostisbehere is ready for NHL to trade Coburn.

A 60+ points forward vs a forward who's never hit more than 40 points a year.

Starts with Coburn... and we can't afford to lose Coburn right now because we have nobody to fill the void he leaves (and no, the answer isn't Ghost. Maybe in 2-3 years, not next year. Too much of a gamble)

Seems like an NHL 14 trade to me

Coburn + Couturier is the only package that interests me.

We've had this discussion before, for whatever reason Flyers fans feel Couturier is on a similar level to ROR despite him not being close to ROR.

Theres no deal to be made here.

Couturier isn't on his level yet, he is close. The difference isn't a top pairing defenseman on a good contract.

I feel like the even bigger problem is the fact that Coburn is casually thrown into the deal and people are fretting over the value of Couturier. Coburn is a top pairing defender on a solid contract. Adding Couturier onto him is getting ridiculous.

Wow, I didn't know ROR was so overrated in these boards.

He's not much better than Couturier, the difference for sure is not Coburn

Sure, ROR is a little bit better than Couturier but then he's also 2 years older than him. The difference between the two isn't a solid #2 defenceman though, don't be silly.

I'm pretty sure it's Couturier who's overrated on HF.

Ah, the person who has probably seen about 10-20 ROR games in total.

The difference between Couturier and ROR might not be Coburn, but he's a hell of a lot better than Couturier.

The only people that say this don't watch Couturier. Notice how every proposal involving him on this site are done by fans of other teams.

Stated in a thread started by a Flyers fan asking for Ryan O'Reilly.

Coburn + Couts is bad for Philly IMO.

I wouldn't be opposed to Luke & Brayden Schenn, although I might be in the minority on that one. Doesn't Brayden play right wing quite well?

O'Reilly isn't going to bring a young high end #1/2, so I'm personally more willing to explore a forward + a younger project D like L. Schenn.

Edit : Simmonds would work as well

Schenn started the shortened season on Giroux's right wing, but it didn't work out too well.

I'm not saying Couturier + Coburn is a fair price for ROR.

OP said he'd do Coburn + Schenn. I'd do that.

well no offence, but you're definitely in the minority on that one.

i don't see realistic trade between these two teams. just sign ryan next year on G's LW

Most Flyer fans think Ryan is overrated

I say
OReily/Coots/Read would be the best shutdown line in hockey

And pretty much every proposal for Ryan O'Reilly is started by fans of other teams. That goes for pretty much every good young player. Fans of teams don't want to part with them and don't make proposals involving them. That doesn't prove that they are untouchable, just that HF posters are attached to skilled young players.

Agreed.

Never had more then 40 points in a season, and has never shown any signs of developing an Offensive game in the NHL, yet still Flyers fans continue to believe and even value him as a 60+ point Center.

He even dropped during his draft year because Scouts doubted his Offensive ability at the NHL level. So far he's only proven these scouts right.

He's ridiculously overrated. ROR was in the same situation as him a few years ago, and Avs fans didnt value him half as much back then as Flyers fans are valuing Couturier.

As overrated as it gets on these boards.
