Sometimes man you gotta just stop being jaded.

We're 3-0 in the CFL and beating clubs we were losing too not very long ago...

If you look around this season, and look around at respective teams and lineups (with virtually every team suffering some player losses) you quickly realize that if anything parity is the name of the game this year. Second thing you realize is that this Esks D is STACKED, I mean loaded with talent and with only BC's coming close.

Who are these teams you think the Eskimos haven't played yet that are so damn good? Other than Saskatchewan.

Calgary? I'm not worried.
agree that this year appears to be the "year of parity" more than any other in recent memory

as far as the teams i think are the class of the league... i still think its saskatchewan and BC (once BC gets lulay back), with calgary in the mix, but slightly behind... all the eastern teams look pretty terrible... i'd put edmonton in that next tier so far, behind the 3 aforementioned teams

OK, thanks, I don't think anybody was suggesting the Esks are best team in the league or anything on the basis of being 3-0. But people are thinking this is a club that is competitive, a playoff club now, and in the mix.

I would agree with that.

yeah i would think that, barring major injuries, we should be in the mix for the playoffs.... i'm just very, very, very wary of our performance thus far against simply horrible opponents... i also have exactly ZERO FAITH in our offensive line, lol

Dave Cutler thinks Shaw can be an all-star kicker. You have to let him play, in my opinion.

Just like to give props for Washington and how important that trade on draft day has been for us. Our O-line seems to be improving each week and Washington has been a solid presence for us.

Bowman and Stamps are going to cause opponents nightmares in terms of coverage. Stamps doesn't look 100% to me.

Our D is dominant though. Curran looked fantastic.

Not really, I'm a rider fan by birth and an Eskimo fan by marriage (literally, my wife lives the Eskimos. Lol).

The way they played against the riders was pretty huge. Strong all over the field.

Let us know if your marriage doesn't work out. She sounds like quite the catch.

You won't find a more optimistic Edmontonian than me when it comes to our sports teams, but even I have to say I'm not so sure about this statement. Yes, we're 3-0. But I've watched all three games in their entirety and I just get the sense that this team is in for a rude awakening based on what I've seen so far.

We beat a B.C. team without Lulay, a Hamilton squad that had the ball on our goal line for the last play, and an expansion team that we scored 2 points on in the first half. There seem to be positives this year, and we certainly couldn't say that last season, but we have a long way to go yet. This looks like a team fully capable of a long losing streak at any moment.

Should be a good few tests with Winnipeg and Calgary up next on the schedule. The East looks atrocious this year so far. Ottawa might have a legit shot at a playoff game in their first year but since their first quarter against Winnipeg, they haven't shown much.

Typical Ray game. Put up 80% completions, No Ints get a QB rating on the day that blows up the scale, but generate no TD's only 15pts, and lose to a good club by a mile.

Yeah, seen that movie dozens of times.

Doesn't look like Argos will even make the playoffs this year.

Clearly, despite all those great Stats that Ray put up, its Ray's fault that the Argos lost.

Right.

lolol

Years later and Ray not even on the club and people don't recognize how Rays offence often veers into a popcorn fart short gainer strategy where he's completing tons of short hitters and getting stalled nearly every rush and not generating pts. Not to mention a RR offence boring fans in attendance to sleep.

Effective CFL QB's are those that generate pts. The object of the game isn't to generate great QB rating (which Ray is very adept at but which is a 4 down gauge) I say this because with multiple downs you can hit short strikes all day and still move the chains. In the CFL reliance on this strategy ultimately stalls drives. Often.

CFL is more of a bigplay game. In CFL you need to be able to hit deep, and hit endzone. Ray has rarely been particularly good at the latter.

So yeah, if your team scores a pathetic 15pts in a game in the CFL, and you're the vet highest paid player in the league starting QB, yeah its your fault completely the offence stalled time after time allday.

You don't win in the CFL scoring 15pts.

Have not got to see one game this year but it sounds like we are a bit better but still need some work.

Glad we are 3-0, hell they've accomplished more this month than they did in an entire season last year. Watched a bit of the Hamilton game and was shocked that we still have a FG Kicker that can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn. Is he getting better?

Biggest question of all……….is our offensive line any better? Will Mike survive a season?

12 seasons and 3 Grey Cup wins. That has to count for something.

All the teams in the East can't all miss the playoffs.

Ray....pffft.
Clearly you all have forgotten about Steven Jyles.

Now that was a QB to build a team around.

meh, bah humbug.

the average in an 8 team league would be 1.5 Grey Cups in a 12yr span.

Then consider that 2 clubs at any given time are usually complete ********* doormats at any given time. Really means a competive side should win on average every 5-6yrs.
