Hey don't say that. He is the player that is going to bring the cup to Vancouver.

Lober, how is the media treating Anze in Slovenia? Is he in the spotlight and considered a national darling yet, or is your country holding its breath for him to actually make the NHL first? I ask because, for example, Japanese press have flown over here just to watch Kings goalie prospect Fukufuji practice, and the Avalanche's Aebischer has also been a big deal in his native Switzerland. Slovenia is another country that can count its NHL exports on one hand. I'm curious as to how excited Slovenia is about Anze or if it's too early for that. Thanks for any info.

Thanks for the warm welcome Spongebob ;
and Osprey he is like a national hero here in Slovenia and there is like once a week an interview, article or a story about him in all the national newspapers , sport magazines , all the major online sport sites , cable tv stations and national tv stations .He was the most popular and interviewed hockey player here even before he was drafted as he was called in the senior national team at only 17 and did well in worldchampionships at division A in Austria even bagging a gol plus he is always a thankfull guest in media as he is very humble , nice , kind and takes time for everyone who wants to talk to him , he is also very inteligent and very wise for his age ; so in other words yes he is a media darling

Oh and there were a lot of our media following him in Södertälje with cameras , there was just a week or so ago another TV interview there in Sweden also showing them training and a couple of praises from his teammates who are all sure he will be a star in the future nhl ...

We have to be happy for the Kings too!
And btw, welcome aboard lober...your Anze updates are golden.

As you've already noticed I live in Italy and I'm really happy the Kings drafted Anze...Slovenia is behind the corner and it's one of my fav countries, nice places & nice people. I know, he's not italian, but he grew up and learned how to play about 450 km from me...and in a country which is not exactly a hockey power, like Italy. I'm just happy about him, and I can't wait to see him with the Kings in 2006.

You are all welcome and you guys are great , you can be sure i will keep you updated about any news from Slovenia about Anze .

Albi : your national team beat our youth team (there were some seniors also) at Euro Challenger in Madonna di Campiglio 2.9.2005 , but we beat Belarus 2:1.
Italy 3:1 Slovenia
Margoni 1:1 Rodman
Trevisani 2:1
Parco 3:1
By the way our national team is lead by Davids Vybornys father František Vyborny .

Thanks for the pic sofaking as it is now my new wallpaper

a8thegreat : actually i only have two photos of him (in lk jersey), one i posted a bit earlyer with his familly and one that i use for my avatar (i got them on some slovenian sport sites), plus all the photos posted on these boards which are posted by the fans .
I am sorry dont know of any cards with Anze as these sport cards arent distributed here in Slovenia , but i would sure LOVE to have one myself .

Guys seriously I am worried now. Anze says his favorite movie is Troy. Am I the only one that finds this extremely disturbing?

I remember seeing a Bio of Ziggy Palffy right before a Kings game on Fox Sports Net. His favorite movie was Bowfinger.

Apparently they don't have the luxury of selection we take for granted.

I didn't even think about the people on this board that Matt insulted with that comment.

I would run and hide if I were you Matt.
