I'm sure he'll update... has only been a couple of days.

Detroit doesn't have a 2014 2nd - sent to Nashville in the David Legwand deal.

Place Ed Jovanovski on waivers for purposes of using a compliance buyout.

We have received an offer we are heavily considering for the 3rd overall. We will make a decision before 5PM ET so send your offer ASAP if you're interested.

With nothing working out, we're opening up our options a bit. The only pieces that will not be moved are Giroux and Simmonds.

We are actively trying to move Hartnell and MacDonald. If you're interested, send me an offer. I'll listen to anything including picks/prospects.

Sean Couturier/Brayden Schenn for a young defender? Anyone?
Hartnell for Umberger?

Looking for a top 6 LW'er. Looking for more a veteran/leader type, but not someone on their last legs. Salary isn't much of a concern.

Leafs send McLaren to the Desert

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded enforcer Frazer McLaren to the Arizona Coyotes, in exchange for Arizona's 4th round selection in the upcoming Entry Draft.

"Frazer simply doesn't fit into our plans for next season. We have other ideas of what we would like to accomplish, and we think Frazer will fill an important role in Arizona. We wish him nothing but success."

Optimus Reim to the Motor City; Leafs deal Reimer, Devane to Detroit

First Jonathan Bernier... and now Jimmy Howard. Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded much maligned goaltender James Reimer, along with behemoth-sized prospect Jamie Devane and their 5th round selection in the upcoming Entry Draft, to the Detroit Red Wings.

"This is our second deal with Detroit, as I think we're a club heading in two very different directions. We have had fantastic talent on this squad, and now they'll be getting a chance with a great franchise as we set our course in another direction. James Reimer is going to get a great chance with a solid defence in front of him, while also getting a very tough prospect in Jamie Devane."

In exchange, the Maple Leafs acquired Detroit's 2nd round selection in the 2015 Entry Draft, as well as speedy prospect Andreas Athanasiou, and veteran depth forward Travis Moen.

"We're very happy to get back a 2nd round selection for next season in what our scouts believe is going to be a deep draft. Andreas Athanasiou is the kind of infusion of speed and skill we have been long seeking, and he will get a top 6 role with the Marlies next season to continue his development. We also get a depth guy in Travis Moen who will do the dirty work, and set the example for some of the younger guys on our squad. We're very happy with this trade for both sides."

confirm very happy to add Reimer we feel he still has a good deal of potential and is the perfect guy to work as a tandem with Howard.

Devane brings size and physicality and we see him as a good project 4th liner.

Still looking to move Kindl for picks or prospects and unless someone has a young potential future 1C for us for a combination of our youth we should be done after moving Kindl

We confirm.

''Frazer is a very tough costumer. He's one of the top heavyweights in this league, he'll fits very well with our physical team. We also think he has good upside as a player to be a solid 4th liner that can contribute in a lot of way. He's a leader that team player that we are very happy to add to our locker room".

Thanks to OfWolfAndMan for the smooth negotiations.

3RD OVERALL PICK TRADED TO BUFFALO

The Edmonton Oilers have traded their 2014 1st round pick (3rd overall) to the Buffalo Sabres for forward Cody Hodgson, goaltender Matt Hackett and Washington 2014 1st round pick (13th overall).

"We are happy with the return we got for the 3rd overall pick. Hodgson will fit well with our young core. We believe he is ready to reach the next level and be a key contributor on our 2nd line. We also think that we will get another very solid player with the 13th overall pick. Finally, Hackett is the kind of young goaltender we were looking for. He could challenge for a spot in training camp."
