Upshall is a UFA at the end of the year, Vinny has 4 more years

No kidding. I could say that about anyone.

I'd do the Vinny/Upshall trade probably. Didn't realize Scottie almost his 40 points this year.

I"m sure he'll only play about 25 games somehow, but it's worth it to dump the contract to pay guys in the future.

Come back "home" to Florida Vinny. The panthers are open arms. Let bygones be bygones.

Philly has always been a pot-stirrer. I could see a Winnipeg deal happening. I also sense a sea-change in Winnipeg regarding Kane - but I think Winnipeg needs a sweetener in addition to the Schenn bro.s. Kane's personality might actually get down-sized in Philly.

Teams are going to regret passing over Ho-Sang. However drafts him is going to be lucky.

The main guy I want to stay away from is Byfuglien, don't want him anywhere near this team

100% agree. He can put up points, but he's a defensive liability for that cap hit.

He wasn't. He rarely is. He's a fraud.

I think the deal we could have lined up is either Coburn or Grossmann. Maybe Schenn as well but those two are probably the more realistic players to be dealt.
In case Philly agrees to cover that bonus, if that's a possibility.

Not with the media in Philly, they jump on and don't let go. Ask Mike Richards and Bryzgalov. Personally, I don't think Kane has character issues. I do believe maybe some maturity issues, which should be fairly normal with some young players.

I wonder if the announced $69 million cap poured cold water on any Flyer dealing, considering they are already over that total with their existing players. Of course, they have wiggle room with Pronger to LTIR, though I admit I don't understand the cap options available to teams to exceed the cap limit. But they certainly are in no position to take on significant salary at this moment.
