James Neal

@DarrenDreger: Penguins have to decide on whether to keep or trade James Neal. No shortage of interest or trade opportunities.

If he is traded does Pittsburgh package him for something?

What teams would be the most interested?

Guy is talented, but psychopathic. Too many questionable to really bad-looking suspendable plays. Left off Team Canada for that reason.

We'll keep him I bet.

If we need to get cap space there's others we can jettison.

not sure why they want to trade their best winger(arguably)?

Maybe to STL for a defender?

Send him out West. Much less chance of our guys getting kneed or elbowed in the head that way.

Would it make sense to trade Neal and the first round pick to a team like Minnesota for 2 young wingers? Zucker and Coyle or something along those lines. Trade 1 good player for two younger players?

Why do they want to trade him? And why do they have to make a decision on him? This tweet is confusing.

True story: I created a Twitter account to yell at Neal after running Giroux and Couturier. Haven't used it since. Dude is a psycho.

Neal is Pittsburgh's best winger, still young and signed to a very nice deal for four more years (which is crucially important for the Pens). He won't be moved unless someone really overpays.

You have the first round pick coming from the wrong team there.

I really don't want to trade Neal, but if he would be moved, I would want either:

A. A more dynamic top-6 winger (Kane)
B. A Bobby Ryan like return (using Minnesota, Coyle, Zucker and a 1st)
C. A Jeff Carter like return (using Anaheim, Palmieri and the #10 pick)

I'm not trading him for scraps, and I'm sure as **** not adding a 1st to get 2 players with 56 points combined in their career.

Can't be overstated enough. He has that cue too. Anyone who thinks a cheap shot decays value below what Ryan or Carter got is dreaming. Pens can get all of what Philly and Anaheim got for their guys. 40g, $5mil young players are exactly a dime a dozen.

I would do Could, Zucker, 1st or Palmieri, proapect , 10OV. That's return Pit needs to make it worth it to trade a sure thing 30+g scorer with 40g potential.

to me it still sounds like JR's getting a bunch of offers but hasnt showed any real interest yet but will review teh offers to be thorough.

we absolutely cannot trade him for quantity unless we get a top line winger elsewhere.

Only thing that would make sense is either for a different type of top 6 winger (Kane, etc) or in a deal like what Ryan fetched for depth and cap space.

I hope the Pens keep him. Makes disliking the franchise so much easier.

He was left off team Canada likely because of his lack of speed, which would hurt in big ice. He should have made the roster over Carter though, no idea why Babcock thought he would fit Sids RW over Neal
