The only problem with the Hammer/Dahlbeck pairing is they would have absolutely zero transition/puck moving game.

I think Hammer is better served with an OK defensive Dman, who can move the puck well.

Question though... Why does everyone assume Leddy will always be paired with Hammer and they wouldn't experiment with Keith-Hammer as a defensive shutdown pairing and Leddy-Seabrook as an offense-generating pairing?
We have seen 8-7 together and it looks terrible

Putting Hammer + Keith together basically leaves Hawks with 1 pair that can be relied on

I have to ask - does anyone else see this type of thinking and just think it's SO antiquated? I mean, when our system is running at full steam we barely play defense... what good is a defense-only defenseman then? Our transition is just too important IMO... maybe I'm crazy but I think Leddy helps that better than just about anyone not named Keith.

I still would want to see Rundblad playing next to Hjalmarsson

He hasn't gotten a Chance to Play with us so far. Rightfully.

A full offseason and preseason knowing our System now? Things might finally come together

For some reason one of my phone apps said we signed Brendan Morrison yesterday. I nearly $&*#ed myself.

It is possible only if Sharpie goes to Buffalo and they take Versteeg, Oduya and Rosy. Then the Hawks re-sign Brookbank. Myers could probably play with Hammy. Is Buffalo still below the cap floor? I can't see this scenario happening but one never knows.

If Sharp agrees to waive his NTC to go to a bad team, I get the feeling that he'd only do so to move to a market that he wants to live in.

It's hard to predict without knowing the terms of the clause...how restricting it is on the Hawks.

Rozsival is scheduled to be at Blackhawks Convention. No Versteeg.

Could be something, but it's likely nothing.

Wasn't Versteeg supposed to be getting married this summer? No Leddy or Keith, either.

That confirms it, Blackhawks are trading away Versteeg, Leddy, and Keith.
Am I doing it right?

Was just looking at the convention attendees.

http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=99090

Is anyone else amused they have Wayne Presley in a Buffalo helmet/sweater in his picture in the Hawks alumni section of attendees? The Hawks PR people are usually so meticulous...

You forgot Kane. According to the trade board, Bowman's going to realize he can't actually afford both Kane and Toews and decide he needs to deal one of them before the end of next year.

I suspect Kane's coming to the convention because he realizes it will be his last hurrah as a Hawk before he ends up traded to the Sabres (because he's from Buffalo) or the Leafs (because every player dreams of joining that team).

Don't forget the Panthers who I'm sure will be willing to trade Dave Bolland for worthless, over-priced Patty Kane.

1. Raanta. Was backup last year after Khabby got hurt. He'll get as little work as possible.

2. TT won't be in Europe. Unknown how much he will play in NHL. I think hell get some time, particularly if/when injuries hit, but I think the signings of Richards and Regin make him starting in the AHL more likely than not unless a forward gets moved for cap relief. Others may have different opinions or be reserving their opinions until training camp/preseason happens. I don't think anything is set in stone for TT other than he will be in N.A. this season.

1. Raanta

2. I don't think he will start the season with the team, but he will probably become a fixture later on in the year.
