Well, if he doesn't run to Pittsburgh to play with Malkin, he could be a good alternate.

Well said. Nothing against Vrbata as a player. Vrbata at 6 years x $5m or whatever silly price he'll get tomorrow? I'll pass.

Pass, this guy is messing vowels in his family name, TVA Sports will never be able to handle that.

Also, I don't want to have that political argument... and I love framing Shane Doan for it... but wasn't HE the one that made THAT anti-french statement people like to think was Doan's?

I think the media would turn his arrival into a circus.

Nah Verby is cool with Frenchies now after spending a season with model citizen Ribeiro.

Don't get me started on ****ing Ribeiro.... I'd be happy he lost his job, but he still gets the cash, what's the point?

I think it was Ladislav Nagy who made the comments.

Yes, please. Vrbata is so underrated. Always flies under the radar. He'd be a great pick up.

Vrbata gets you to the playoffs, he won't get you through round 4

PAP and Vrbata over Briere and Gio would be a dream come true.

Well he would get you to the Western Conference finals with a lackluster team.

Habs interest in Vrbata likely deminished since Parenteau trade

Vrbata would replace Vanek, not Gionta.

PAP is essentially replacing Vanek. Whoever becomes our 4th line centre will be replacing Briere.

I really don't want to win the Vrbata sweepstakes. We already acquired one high priced softie in Parenteau. How many soft wingers can one team have? We should be going after some grit...especially with losses of Gorges and White.

Oh so we'd have another heartless loafer who absolutely doesnt want to damage the boards in anyway or be too abusive of the ice surface??

Vrbata is too similar to Paparteau. RW, 20 goals - 50 points, same size, soft game. Habs don't have much interest now.

Only positive i can say with him is he actually shoots the puck.I get frustrated as a fan when i see players cycling the puck forever and not shooting. However beyond shooting the puck he does not give the Habs what they need which is a tough winger with grit who can skate.
IMO the Habs should have used every effort to try and pry that very fast hard working winger from Tampa Bay,i think his name was TJ something.

I am happy Briere is gone,he is a simple pushover on the boards and Gionta has really fallen off and is again a soft player.

IDK like many other Habs fans,we all know the Habs biggest problem is board grit,so why doesn't management see this and why do they keep grabbing more soft players. The only grittier players they grab can't skate.

Vrbata is THE player missing to that roster now.... even more than a L-handed top 3 D-man.

Hope we sign him. Bergerin just saved 1,1 M$ with Gorges/Gilbert...

If we have cap space after getting those two players on the roster, I hope we could go after Steve Otts too...

I prefer Hemsky or Iginla, but Vrbata is not bad at all, better than nothing.
