Shocking, we go for the only guy that doesn't produce outside of Phoenix ... and I doubt that he'll work out well here

This is who I'm following today

We should have gone hard after Filpulla last year and we should be going hard after
Stastny this year. Cup contenders are strong up the middle and we are not right now. Neal, Vrbata, Moulson...we could have all of these guys on the team next year and we would still be weak down the middle.

The Dallas Stars just acquired Spezza. I'm really surprised he'd go there but not Nashville, I'd say we finish ahead of Dallas last year if not for the Rinne injury. Oh well, Central keeps getting tougher.

In about an hour, the signings start. All of the rumormongers have us chasing the big name forwards and which (if any) of them we land becomes known in the near future.

I'm waiting to see what Poile does on the blueline. We have our first pair then ... uh ... well ... Jones, Ekholm, Ellis, somebody in some combination ... maybe. There are plenty of veteran defenders on the market to solidify the bottom pairings and be there when the inevitable injuries pop up.

Wait, I just remembered, Spezza had no choice but to go to Dallas, they weren't on his NTC list. If he wouldn't go to Nashville, I'm guessing he's not too happy about Dallas.

We average 2,000 more fans than Dallas in attendance and our building was 18th in capacity percentage last season at 97%..... We are not small market. The 10-12 teams below us are.

We can do it. i have ultimate faith in Poile now after grabbing Neal.

I think Lavy gave him a solid kick in the butt and said "get some forwards damnit!"

i think we're getting Vrbata...just a hunch

Yes, because going and playing with a very sold Dallas team makes him a fool… he only gets to play with Seguin, Benn, Cole, and Nichkuskin.

Should Dallas pick up some depth forwards and a D man or two, I think they are a very very strong team… on par with us if we get the proper forwards. Both teams are missing key pieces. Spezza fills one for Dallas, Neal fills one for us. Spezza chose Dallas over us though both teams seems pretty even on paper. His victory or loss. All I know, he is going to get the crap booed out of him in Nashville this year.

Their D sucks and it was also a 'jokey' comment. He had to go there anyway because they weren't on his no trade list.

The lone team in the central that are worse than the Preds still is the Jets. And it sounds like there gonna lose Kane.

At the end of tomorrw I hope we can get more competitve in the division at the very least the Preds need to compete for 3rd in the division.

People who think Dallas is a worse situation than us for Spezza is delusional in terms of winning chance. Dallas has a very strong group of forwards now and a very good goalie. Their defense is questionable, but in terms of skaters they're essentially our foil right now.

Made some adjustments to my post. Again, if both teams fill the holes in their lineups, they are pretty even on paper. I wouldn't have chosen Dallas over Nashville but he clearly thinks that's his best bet with their strong group of young forwards.

If we don't like it, just beat him next year.

Nill was told on Saturday that the deal was going to be nixed just like Nashville.

Poile didn't whine he just said he wouldn't go back because he doesn't want players that don't want to be in Nashville. Too right.
